Dalton 1 Revisiting your statement "The G(N)(6) alternative offered in replacement of NADD in my view still remains weak. The reason is because it is the same old faces doing same things.", is important to help clarify or define the predominant traits, disposition and underlying factors for formation of these two tactical and strategic accords, for opposition parties united in purpose to established a common platform for common goal(s); in interests of all those political parties that came together (united) as opposition front under one umbrella; in order to expect clear response from you on my comments

Therefore take note of the following;

G(N)6
  • For last non winnable November 24th 2011 Presidential elections the opposition parties having been humiliated and battered, rejected results due to level-playing field lacked, irregularities exposed, fraudulent and bogus elections petitioned; seven opposition parties decided that "enough is enough" and combined efforts to jointly fight their demands together as a Group. "The Group of Seven Parties (were left with no choice but to swiftly came together) to demand for electoral reform before the 29th March 2012 National Assembly elections".

  • "The seven Opposition Parties namely the Gambia Moral Congress (GMC), the Gambia Party for Development and Progress (GPDP), the National Alliance for Democracy and Development (NADD), the National Reconciliation Party (NRP), the People Progressive Party (PPP), the People’s Democratic Organisation for Independence and Socialism (PDOIS) and the United Democratic Party (UDP) held a Press Conference on Tuesday 6th March 2012 at the People’s Centre at Churchill Town to state their position regarding the forth coming National Assembly Elections." That Press Conference CALLED FOR POSTPONEMENT IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN GENUINE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS. (Refer here)?

  • Another Press Statement followed later claiming that "WE ARE PUSHED OUT” SAY 6 OPPOSITION PARTIES. (Refer here)? Excluding NRP reduced number from Group Seven to Group Six (G6) when Hamat Bah NRP leader declared that NRP will not boycott any election. (Refer here)?

  • "It is important to point our here that the effort of the opposition G(N)6 initially is not geared towards alliance or coalition building for purposes of contesting an election as a united front strategy, rather it is for a unity of interest in ensuring electoral reform for a level playing field for all parties;" amongst a range of radical electoral reforms demanded.

  • Up to-date a third and final Press STATEMENT OF THE GROUP OF SIX dated 29 August 2012 was released when Gambia Government confirmed executions but GMC Dissociates itself from G6 Letter to the Authorities?

  • Note recently according to UDP leader "The coalition of six worked so hard recently to have a valid electoral reform, electoral reform that is not cosmetic but a real". (Refer here)?

NADD
More later!

Kobo:

Thanks for helping me understand more on the functions of G6.

I am sure you followed that some members of this group came up with press releases opposing something that came from the G6, notably Mai Fatty. That might mean that few are active.

Put more in...i am reading.

Thanks

Thanks for reminding me certain weaknesses, the disorientation, shifting of positions, contention, discordant and/or controversial partisan postures which ridiculously exposed that they did not formed a cohesive Group undermining national unity and solidarity from opposition front

Finally observing the situation, Dalton 1 your logic to coin in G(N) as an unknown value appear to be valid or a prudent decision; as it is not clear to apply, determine and/or resolve reliable common property number of the Group; and safe to leave it open until GMC re-commit itself on G(6) again

Kobo, thanks for the resources. I am actually a little bit familiar with speech recognition. The current company I work for Lionbridge Technologies www.lionbridge.com specializes in language technology..

I personally hire folks that do voice recognition software testing...

The interesting thing is that it only recognizes certain accents... for example British English, German, American English, French etc... If you have an accent like most of us do, tough luck..

At my work I also use the same software and if you were to call me at US #978-964-4991 and leave a message it will transcribe everything but if you have an accent it give rubbish. We keep laughing about it at work all the time...

Try it and I will share the recording here...

In any case I will explore other options and see what can be done. The good thing is I always have the recordings saved to a folder.

Thanks

Mawdo Demba:

I wonder why. Actually, it is not fair, (LOL). Funny how some of these machines don't recognize folks with our accents.

Best regards,
Yero
