Theres some pretty interesting movies out there on the U.S. involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan. I don't know if anyone has access to Farhenheit 911 - The Michael Moore documentary or also
a new one called Loose Change - where according to the producer of the film, there are no records of people being on one of the flights that supposedly crashed in Penn. and also theres questioning whether a plane really went into the Pentagon or it was a missile. Its distressing to be lied too, but Michael Moore showed us how much all the Bushes family empire is entangled with Gulf Oil. Its even more scary how diplomacy is playing.

See these website for more information.

Loose Change (video) on 9/11

Farhenheit 9/11

By the way, wikipedia, a free online encyclopaedia is an excellent tool for locating all kinds of information.
Its frustrating to see whats happening and yet inspite of it all, it continues without mercy.

It must be a terrible dilemma to be soldier. They must have to be on guard at all times.

Janyanfara, don't forget other important players like China or Russia. I doubt that in the long term they will only sit and watch...

Sab and Newfy, you are well informed, thank you! I don't think that Heroin is really important for the US, because, as you correctly stated, it is the oil what they are after (wow, and there is sooo much more in Iran!!). But the control of the drug market could be a nice little side effect.

Greetings Janyanfara, with respect, I have no problem with your ‘tongue in cheek’ laughter with regard my posting that I assumed would be taken in the ‘spirit of bantaba'
Could you have taken the last sentence out of context, whereby you believe ‘I’ implied there was justification? Sincerely hope not.
Should you have an interest, or opportunity take a peep into the American invasion of Somalia, you will find that on the northwestern Indian Ocean are major oil and gas reserve, perhaps as large as the Caspian Sea. There too, American companies have staked claims and await the imposition of a pro-western regime. They are also in communication with the militia Rahanwein, which have long time, attempted to keep Somalia weak and divided!
Then we can come to the UN – Resolutions 2004 on Darfur & why China and Russia abstained etc.,

This subject has been debated some eighteen months ago on this bantaba, but for the new names that have appeared this year I thought of giving the benefit of the findings on Afghanistan & the oil and nearon repeated an old posting.
Regards and peace…sab.
