i think the post WWII European social model is a good one that should be copied by many countries in the developing world. unfortunately it is becoming more americanised and individualistic. the free education system/student loan was a good idea.
it will eventually be fully privatised and every one will just have to pay.
jede i dont think we have a problem with immigrants.infact most of them are there because there countires are destroyed by war but others are economic migrants.
they are simply required to pay for a residence permit and if they fail to do so they are usually asked to leave. but this is different from the influx problem facing the EU. in the gambia
there is no social system anyway everyone pay for everything. |

On the issue of National Insurance if Britain issued Non EU immigrants more work permits then they could legitmately work in the system and pay their taxes and National Insurance contributions. Thereby investing in the NHS and preventing cuts of essential services. There would also be more professional and trades workers to contribute to the growth of the economy, and a lot more money could also be sent home to their countries of origin reducing aid. The biggest barrier is the perpetuation of racist system under the guise of immigration and terrorism which impacts directly and indirectly on health both globally and locally.

I often asked myself why Western Europe, while having advanced social and health systems, is so eager to become as backward as the US. I don't see any winner of this change. But the Conservatives of certain European countries are more or less slaves to the US, and for the latter it may be easier to drag others down to their level than to catch up with more developed countries. They just hate not to be the number 1.
Okay, folks, this was my 'Anti-Americanism Of The Day', yeah. |
