Kaanibaa, you know how less spicy pepper soup tastes without that peppery stuff you so much possess. Your chasing of the mighty pound is acceptable. Do not forget to slot during breaks.

Ha! ha! Karamba you are funny bro, but I do agree to put in a few moments during any free periods to spice it up a bit. T1020 they say those who are swimming in dough; I mean money, at times cry wolf so people run away from them believing they are skint . I know too that officially UK is in recession again ; ergo the need to push for more hours of pound seeking "murado" meaning working or else hey men where do I get the next meal from , eh! I think you are joking about your pound being devalued or so to speak but then recession should not stop us from earning our keep I for one hate being on the dole and never signed up for that as a result. I believe in working hard so that what I earn is seen by me as legitimate and thus I would not fritter my hard earned wages on silly buys etc.

Well said,(Doughman here !) you must admit that things are difficult now in the UK and if you want to keep your job ,you have to realise that you must work extra hard to pay for the same things that a few years ago were much cheaper ,to spend money on silly buys is not a good idea at this time I agree.
There is one thing that is free and that is the thoughts in your mind you can journey everywhere for nothing ,and if you feel that YOU want to write poems about your thoughts that will make others think great.

A thoughtful piece again Kaani. The choise of words is always scintilating. if The great Bantaba Karamba accepts your dynamism, then who can deny you the wisdom to unveil your cuppulets.

Santa nice words thanks again , I agree entirely with you. Karamba does not mince his words on this forum and when he speaks i for one give him a good listening for he is wise , outspoken but with reason and very balanced too.I promise to stay on track given time and the pull from the other end eases off. Hey men when the proverbial hyena was told to relax he retorted "let the unseen rear relax" whiles there was movement of ominous portend around why ask the jittery to relax , tension is called for so mr hyena bookey cannot calm down at all, aday lookou for money oh bra! ha ha ha.Thanks for your nice words brother and i enjoyed your comments on some spicy issues recently too.

Thanks again brother . I want to add that in Mandinka language the use of idioms is very common and we used to practice them as kids even compete with each other in their usage. " Kirrkapp " is one such idiom and it is meant to describe the act of am elephant kneeling on a stone and that of course gets splintered by it's weight. I am sure fellow mandinka readers will remember this particular idiom it might help conceptualize the poem as it were ; thanks again.

Just before you escape, Kaanibaa how will you expand on the logic behind "Soso laso" ?

Beyond the child game of no one getting missed, how does it apply in real life daily encounters. If you need time, skip it for now.

In response to your thought provoking agenda , I first of all wish to tender an apology for my delayed response due to circumstances beyond my control. Having done with that , my take on the topic taken in the context of real life experiences ,generated a vivid film of a lifetime's experience in real-time back home. You see as kids we engaged in the wild game of flipping a hard ball onto the bodies of our mates and this is done with sheer wickedness causing the ones so hit at times to really cry out in pain. Now back to what obtains in SooGambia which was so "sweet" that the magnificient griots of yore sang about " Kambia kunungmaa naa biimaa benyadii, hanny mengteh bankokang beyka deyataa" ; we have the reality show of people being battered left right and centre by a system so mean that no one is seeming left out of the pitch of play. Sosalaso as it is meant literally , is to get at all and sundry whether or not they chose to join the fray. The quotation of "when they came for Pateh , I did not say anything because I was not a Fula etc " came to mine here. I see it that no is left unscathed by the burning flames of the purge which is going the rounds in dear Kambia and sorry to say this but it seems to be a wicked musical chairs game which drags all in to play. My opinion though is that the puppet master might be enjoying his show for now but being a human-being he is not master of his own life or destiny, perhaps this wicked merry-go round would be concluded by him getting to participate with some one else serving as puppet master; who knows ! I also wonder whether that song I quoted still stand true today; the answer to that is left open and as they say " who feels it knows it all "

In total agreement with you Kaanibaa, Kambia kunungma ni abimaa te kilingti. Adding more pepper to the soup, everyone will taste the bitterness. Nobody is fortified to escape.

At end of show, those who continue tormenting others will get to be tormented. That is how the ball settles at final round. Thank you Kaanibaa. More soup from your kitchen.
