"The brief facts of the case state that: one of his clients accuses Mr. Mboge of disposing of his landed property, which was a subject of legal litigation at some point without his client's expressed permission. Mboge denied the allegations."

If Mboge has committed this then the sentence reflects the seriousness of concern that the courts take in such a matter,from what I read it seems that Mboge is having a moan at the Gambian Bar for failing to support him in his hour of need,Moses Richards (my favorite Gambian )was a totally different set of circumstances and cannot be compared at all with Mboge

I wonder if Kuluteh Manneh will be paying the usual high fees that lawyers charge when he visits Lawyer Lamin K. Mboge at his new chambers at "The Hotel" ?
I do have a certain amount of sympathy for Justice Emmanuel Nkea I suspect that he would be seen as assisting the prosecution if he failed to grant the application,and maybe there would be grounds for appeal against conviction,if the defendant Kuluteh Manneh were to be found guilty at his trial all a little odd though,but is it wrong ?

"Justice Emmanuel Nkea at the Special Criminal Court in Banjul, yesterday February 23rd 2012, made an order for the director general of the Gambia Prisons Services to allow Kuluteh Manneh, an ex-officer of the Gambia Armed Forces to access and consult his former defence counsel, Lawyer Lamin K. Mboge, currently serving a two-year jail term in Mile 2."

"The prosecution had closed its case and it is now left for the accused persons to open their defence".

Service at "The Hotel" MAY have not improved,more training needed?,for instance ,if a true account of what happened has been given by the convict who was sentenced for "uttering false documents and making a false declaration" .(link to that:http://www.foroyaa.gm/modules/news/article.php?storyid=9014 )

"He revealed that he consulted a prison commissioner in charge, who told him that he could not get access to any visitor without an order from the court.

Mboge added that the officer also told him that he could not get access to a doctor without an order from the court."

JOLLOF NEWS;

DAILY OBSERVER NEWS;

Hope Lawyer Mboge's appeal would not suffer same fate with that of Tamba & co at appeal court again? Best option is pray or appeal for President's prerogative of mercy; like his mate Moses Richards gets presidential pardon

Kobo, personally I think "fellow lawyer" would have been a lot better than "mate" very different circumstances and people.
