Dawda Jobarteh is not an unknown name in the Danish world music circles, he has played with Moussa Diaollo, Pierre Dorge's New Jungle Orchestra and with numerous international names. Now he finally led his own compositions and the recently released the album Northern Light Gambian Night, which received great praise in the magazine Song Lines.
Dawda takes his traditional musical training from his Mande griot upbringing in Gambia and with the help of long-term friends and band members, Preben Carlsen on guitar, Nana Osibio on bass and Salieu Dibba on percussion, creates an intense contemporary vision of an ancient tradition.

Dawda Jobarteh Concert - Tickets at reduced price for Bantaba members and visitors
On Friday the 2nd of December you can experience the Gambian Kora-player Dawda Jorbarteh in concert. The concert takes place at the venue Global at Nørrebro, Copenhagen. You can read more about the concert HERE (in Danish).
The tickets normally cost 90 kr., but you can buy a ticket for only 50 kr. (Notice: in order to use the offer, you have to buy the ticket in advance)
This is how you do it:
•Follow this LINK (before 5 pm on the day of the concert)
•Click "Click here to enter a promotion code", write the code "Dawda" and click "OK"
•Now a new sales-line will appear, where it is possible to buy tickets at a price of 50 kr.
•Print the ticket (not the invoice) and bring it along to the concert.
