Who holds the rein
That restrains me forth
Which thus hinders my moves
Blocks my vision and stops my breath
Even from enjoying the free air
Who threatens my peace
Of mind and soul
Which thus causes my stress
Called distress by others who know
And send me to the sanitorium
To be held at the pleasure of a heartless minder
Just because I will not stop moaning , eh
Freer beings go out without fear
Talk and discuss with zest
In private and in public
Without looking behind
To check for who might be listening
Then report to spymaster
For a tallying resource
Which then leads to incaseration
Freer beings enjoy the air
Walk the parks and fields in bliss
Soaking the fragrance flowing freely
From blossoming flowering trees
Just like the bees on a pollen search
Their joy seen without by all
Infecting those they accost on those walks
In another scene
Lurk a sad bunch
Who must take care
Of what they say ,do or fail to do
For the overbearing eyes
Keep them under a hard survey
Systemic deprivation of all that is
By nature free
What a sad environment
Oh what a sad people
Who holds that key
Which locked away my happiness
Happiness locked in my need to be free
Freer people else where
Live in heaven
But I am in hell
On this earth
And I know no one who cares

| Wow.....very sad........I really hope that the last line does not refer to you Kaan, and the poem is a picture in words of the oppressed and unhappy people who just exist without hope in many countries on earth,powerful stuff. |

| Figuratively speaking this talks about me but in reality I am in the situation of an outsider observer .You see Toubab ; if I say that what happens around me does not affect me I would effectively be a grand liar , deceiving no one but myself therefore this leads to another thesis that what affects my country or its contents does not affect me is another big lie. The answer to your query therefore is that this is about me on a grand scale as well as on the minuite scale, everything in it touches my very soul. Thanks for your continous observations. |
