Government says this, president says that. Is Vision 2020 a realistic goal for Gambia to achieve ? Will president Jammeh face the ultimate in dignity ?

He said:

“Yes it is an ambitious vision, achieve what we want in nine years, or four years from now; but it is always better to aim high and do your best than to aim low and achieve small things. Success is not measured by the easier achievements you have but is measured and qualified by the difficult task and objectives that you are able to achieve.”

, Karamba speaking green and writing in green, cyberspace "Humba Nah", I think it will be interesting dealing with real issues pertaining to Gambia instead of what anyone thinks they want and should happen, destroying each other is never the answer or solution to our problems.................................................Peace

Moe, pardon the occasion if you have been wrongly rated on higher capacity reasoning platform without verification. What is more important than a head of state promising to develop his nation and people at world class standard only to turn round and now saying, aim high even if you fail? That means, you have to aim high even if you know your aim is unrealistic. You call that what? Oh Moe, don't let your fans down. This is the most important issue for Gambians to ask questions about. Come up please.

And then Moe, you wrote:

"...........I think it will be interesting dealing with real issues pertaining to Gambia instead of what anyone thinks they want and should happen......"

So this is no real issue in your account of reality then Moe?

Again you wrote"......anyone thinks they want and should happen......"

Sorry Moe, this is not ANYONE. This is THE ONE and ONLY president, don't you agree? He is not ANYONE. He is THE One. What HE says is taken serious.

Hope that helps bridge up any way?

Karamba

Okay Karamba for us to measure whether Vision 2020 is actually a realistic goal we need the basic facts bro bro, what did they plan to achieve by 2020 and thus far what have they achieved. Unless you bring that data and put it under scrutiny then what you're saying is just some DAABAA stuff. Vision 2020 is not a predictable goal, something you can say I will have all these things done by force. Aiming higher and achieving 75 percent of the intended goal or a 50 percentile is even acceptable. You seen the terrorist help the British take back much needed funding based on bogus claims and lies but in that retrospect the White Man also needs his money during these trying times and failing economies which has in effect changed a globalized world and how it operates, Everyone is out to find any reason not to pay their dues. My opinion and mine only Vision 2020 is an achievable goal............................................Peace

Moe, your performance in pursuit of the truth regarding this matter can be enhanced if only you stand ready to face reality head on. Where in this world do you have a government or head of state playing with words about national development? How do you come up with the figures about achievement of Vision 2020.

Like other keen observers with open mind, I never paid so much attention to this Vision 2020 in the way it was picked up by Bayang in his recent challenging article. My understanding now is that government through president Jammeh pledged to advance Gambia at the standard of world powers. In fact this is what he ( president Jammeh) has been saying about Vision 2020. Do you now want to contradict him openly by your views that he was not serious about the set targets? Are you simply entertaining Moe?

Guys a leader without a vision is no leader at all. Therefore Jammeh has acknowledged the fact that there is still a lot of work to be done before vision 2020 can be realised in its entirety and taken all what has been into consideration including the global economic climate belt tightening iis the name of the game for many of us. So what Jammeh said shouldn't be of surprise to any of us considering we hear the same mantra over the media everyday from our governments. Why should Gambia be any different? Unless of course the Gambian government discovered Gold mines and oil wells overnight! No of course I'm dreaming the harsh reality is the old mantra there are no blessings without sacrifices therefore it seems hard work is the order of the day.

One morning, a little boy who was fond of bed wetting had his fine day. There appeared thick clouds everywhere. The boy was still in bed having wet his sleeping pants. Peeping through the window, he saw other boys playing under the heavy rain down pour. The bed wetting boy quickly jumped from bed and joined other boys taking fun from the falling rains.

That is exactly the sense any sensible person is able to deduce from this well-tailored super excuse by Sister Omega, that global economic and financial climate disallows the best development plans to work.

It is a matter of wetting because everyone is wet. Wondeful thoughts there Sister Omega. Where is responsibility to own up then?

Hi Karamba,

Just sometimes when little boys have bed wetting problems they may need to be circumcised to alleviate their discomfort.

What the hell are you talking about Karamba?

The reality is there has been a tremendous amount of work that's been done in Gambia since 1994. However, there is still a lot of outstanding work to be completed. That's good news for Enterprenuers seeking opportunities to fill niches in Gambia.

It isn't so great for people who have no intention going back home to participate in developing the country. Let alone having a vision or the capability to think big. They may have the capacity to talk the talk but when it comes to grafting and getting their hands dirty forget it! They prefer to sit down and chat about boys wetting the beds by the way Karamba is that autobiographical?

Sister Omega, you have no clue what anyone is doing. Reading what anyone writes on Bantaba is no sufficient material for you to conclude about people. We are dealing with a national issue here. If you think the bed wetting boy needs circumcision, that's up to you. There is a whole morale for this parable but you flatly failed to grasp it.

If a president who promised transparency and accountability fails to deliver, he is obliged by occasion of his own big mouth utterances to admit his failure. Now that you have come to accept your president's failure, the most decent advice would have been to ask of him step down gracefully. Gambia is too frail to take further risk in the hands of a planned failure or failed planner.

Look Karamba YOU and I can finish that job if you wanna put some head into it, They can get the job done any time of day either early or late, Jammeh is a real Project Manager Karamba, He is speaking risk assessment analysis and management at this poin, a language a bed wetter knows nothing about "Seben Kathey Lal Bi".

Gent, and lady, this is not about bed wetting. It is about a presidential pledge turning Gambia into world power by year 2020. Now that year 2020 is just under 9 years and we have not seen much to indicate that Gambia is fit to be called world power by then. That is the issue. Don't turn and twist the issue. Face it or bow down.

Where are the results ? Are we fit to be called world power ? These are simple questions requiring simple answers. Only if you choose to confuse yourself as usual then you go ahead to brew complex responses in twisted mind bogging.

President Jammeh never told you Karamba he will make Gambia a world powerlike lets say America or England or some other rich middle eastern or European country. The goal is to be the Singapore of West Africa, The amount of foreigners living in Gambia is a testament that indeed it has become the gateway for all English Speaking West Africans. Now thats a FACT.................................Peac e

Now Moe, is Gambia anywhere near the standard of Singapore? Did I state that Jammeh told me? He told the Gambian nation. Not long ago he clearly keeps saying that Gambia will be a sample for all mankind. That certainly includes every civilised nation and people of this great universe. How dare you want to deny Jammeh's own words. Stop kidding yourself.

From Banku Bungoo to what little we have today, of course if you slow down the resources of any nation and compare, Gambia without resources is managing fairly. Of course it is the Singapore of West Africa and so far a sample for war inflicted Africa............................Peace
