I expected charges of sedition even though the elements of the crime are not there. However, the charge of treason is mind buckling. |

What is treason ? What is treasonable? What is subversion? What is subversive? Don't citizens of Gambia have no right to unseat a miltary dictatorship parading before us as government of the people ? This one is gone beyond the limit.
HOW DID MR JAMMEH COME TO POWER ? |

moe, You see people like you always end up a failure. I said I am CCG because I am everything ANTI YAHYA JUFURUNTU JAMMEH. You know am UDP as a politician but if your devil father Yahya Jammeh touch any Gambian all of us woukld from today join such group to challenge him. What is wrong with printing T. Shirts calling for freedom? Is there any freedom in the Gambia? Even democratic nations like America UK and Senegal people print placards and T.Shirts calling for freedom what should be different from the Gambia. Moe ask your god father has he banned CCG from Gambia? If so by what law or degree? Has parliament ever declared outside Gambian pressure groups illigal? This is exactly what your God father criminal Yahya Jammeh did when he went on an arrest spree arresting innocent Gambian of writing to freedom newspaper AND SO WHAT? Is that a crime in the gGambia to subscribe to newspapers stupid Jammeh? How about distributing condoms and building whire houses for young GREEN BOYS AND GIRLS to intermingle having unprotected sex? Go to Kaninlai and visit your god father's aids clinic and you would hold your breath. Young men and women being victims of ignorance while the devil continues to encourage them that it is save they have unprotected sex as he has found a cure of aids. MAD DOG |

Scope, Well I guess you're right a Gambian court of Law I guess. Anyways as per the charge sheet, the charges are not Flimsy and it is evident something was in the making whether subversive or clandestine its yet to be determined. But I can assure you that he is skating on very thin Ice, He has to prove that whatever law is in place affects his fundamental human rights or else he will be a victim to the existing laws in place. All the recent treason trials had overwhelming substantiative evidence associated with the crimes , whether the methods used to get this information was up to par or consistent well . I doubt Gambian Judges can do better than their Nigerian coounterparts, There is a legitimate reason why we have foreigners as our Judges. With a population of 1.5 Inter-related individuals no one will be going to Jail.I will tell you about some other clandestine figures whom Jawara had to put in their place in 1986, this is just a repetition of the Chaos that ensues when Politicians loose all HOPE...................Peace |

There you go again, what has Jawara who left the scenes 18 years ago got to do with the activities of the Jasmmeh government? You see how low you can think? Has this same your god father not claimed in 1984 that Jawara was unlawfully and treasonably removed from power by him as claimed? Moe who are you and where do you learn english and common sence? You even implicate Yhya Jammeh more than some of his critics. |

Jay it's not against the Law to Print T shirts or join any group, Take a good look at the charge sheet and what they are accused of and see if it ONLY had to do with Printing T shirts, Thats the tip of the Iceberg. If you wanna discuss the presidential treatment statrt a new thread am all good with that, meanwhile the activities in my opinion were not only clandestine and subversive but meant to undermine the state. They distributed their material in a cowardly manner anyways. What I have to say in regards to 1986 is just as relevant today since the figures are ever present in the political scene , It will be take one from the script.............................peace |

Ofcause I have listened to the charges leveled against the dao. We all stand guilty of such including your self. Don't you castigate Darboe Bah and others? Oh only yahya is untouchable right? A lot of madness going on in the Gambia. I remembered during the days of Baba Jobe one singer insults Ousainou and police clap and dance. After Baba was sentenced, that same lady sang a song about Yahya and she was arrested by NIA and tortured. Is that what you would call democracy? |

Police chief's speak was so out of touch that I felt like throwing up which school did he go to gush We are doomed with lunatics at the helm. |

What if the CCG decides to put a presidential candidate and run for election, would these slogans be termed as sedition? |

Whether a political party or a Subversive/Clandestine organization . I guess Momodou, it just depends on the basis of the degree to which their activities actually pose a threat to social order. The activities thus far are not innocuous and have all the basic elements or merits to qualify as a Treasonable offense . They have the particulars of time, place and manner in which the offence was committed. The question is what have they done that warrants or qualifies as SEDITION or Treason? thats upto anyone's discretion but my thoughts have been finalized after the charges preffered and evidence. Kitab, do I look like a Coward to RUN..? LOl...........................Peace |
