The Office of the President has issued a statement indicating from henceforth no institution or establishment in The Gambia is allowed to name their institutions / establishments after the president of the republic or any member of the First Family without prior authorisation, a media release from the Presidency yesterday stated.
The release reads: The Office of the President hereby informs the general public and institutions that from henceforth, no institution or establishment in The Gambia is allowed to name their institutions/ establishments after His Excellency, the President or any member of the First Family without prior authorization. Any such institution or establishment that has already done such naming without authorization should rescind the name with immediate effect.
In the same vein, the Office of the President also informs the general public that printing or painting pictures of His Excellency the President and the First Family without prior authorization is also unacceptable. Those found contravening these orders will face the full force of the law. Consequently the cooperation of all is solicited.
