I read with concern, about another trigger of unrest this time from Burkina Faso, there nestle another strong man who rules his people according to the modus operandi of our African leaders. Now his bastion of support, to wit; the army is in a mutinous state, what follows henceforth is any ones guess . I read from various news out lets the reports of the said army firing worrying shots through out the night leaving the cowed citizenry wondering what gives. This reminds me of the Mandeng ancients tales about the fidgeting hyena who was told to stop fidgeting but he reposted by telling them to address the source of his unease ; to wit , whatever is making those ominous movements in the bushes beyond .Indeed these are troubled times but those who are more worried are those leaders who have overstepped the bounds of decent leadership and so keep looking askance for any signs of uprisings which when they do show up most often sends them tumbling down. Their seats are made of wooden stuff which as time goes on get moldy or eaten by termites thus terminating their sordid reigns. So we all now wait to see where all these activities end and who gets torched too is becoming a dream come true for some and a nightmare for others. May the truth conquer ******y amen

From the reliable BBC:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-13090094

Here is a bit more on the unrest of this African country, note the last sentence of the snippet below from a witness.

http://english.aljazeera.net/news/africa/2011/04/201141515814166612.html

Soldiers of the presidential security regiment in Burkina Faso have gone on a looting spree in the capital Ouagadougou after an apparent mutiny reportedly over unpaid allowances, witnesses and military sources said.
The looting on Friday followed a series of protests by soldiers that began last month in the poor west African country.
"I was going in the direction of the Lamizana [military] camp when I heard the gunfire. I saw people rushing back towards me, so I turned around and went back home," said Pierre Tapsoba, a resident of the Gounghin neighbourhood in the west of Ouagadougou.

"I haven't been out since. It's bad."

Keeping the army happy is usually a catch 22 situation for dictators in many poor countries. On one hand, the dictators usually believe that an exponential increase of their security apparatus would ensure regime security... but reality is, it is very hard to keep most of those armed men happy and well paid.

In these armies, promotion is not based on military merit but loyalty to the "boss and his gang." however, the sight of a few ill-educated and poorly trained soldiers enjoying overseas trips, peacekeeping duties and nice perks creates loads of bad blood which leads to an inevitable end.

It happened in Guinea under Conteh, Nigeria under Buhari, Ghana under Rawlings, and Nino's Guinea and...... now Bukinafaso.

A Machellivian should probably tell these folks that building a small unit capable of crushing all opposition is much more effective than playing a numbers games in which everyone feels entitled to have their share.

Blood on his hands, this unclean killer has to dance on bot sand. No difference between him and our own fat elephant under the bed.

Matter of time, but paying the price, that they must, and most likely dare enough.
