You have the audacity to call me a liar. I said collect D200,000 and you Demba Baldeh in particular need to contribute D100,000 and I promise to hand deliver to to either Momodou or Turk and I know for sure they ain't gonna cover for me. My word is good enough and that should be a total of 400,000. Like I said I. Don't subscribe to any of your hopeless endeavors but as a one time courtesy I will meet ya"ll half way. You heard me loud and clear Bokarr sey needs to contribute $500 Matthew $500 and sorry Dalton $500 I know he ain't got 100,000 . Gambia echo can contribute , jollof news, senegambia and even the defunct allgambian.net. demba come up with $9000 and I will put my money where my mouth is. First of all you guys owe those children anyways and should make up for it somehow. My identity is non of your business and am not working with you but I certainly will give D100,000 if you procastinators reached the end of the bargain. Trust me if you come up with the $9000 which should be fairly easy I. Will commit to what I stated. Stop arguing and get to work I initiated it so go for it if you are a man with any sort of dignity." Yai compin be nga done" ......................................Peace

I have a swiss account. And the number is 19392034 with int code 434323. Please send old donation to that account. Make sure you use your bantaba user name so I know who is who. Thanks in advance.

But seriously, we should donate some money to bantaba.

diaspora! Too many Chiefs and Very Few Indians.

Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices.

One thing I can't understand with these people, the victims of April 10&11, is that despite the terror unleashed on them, they still go on thanking President Jammeh who did nothing whatsoever to bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to book and award adequate state compensation to victims. In fact, he indemnified them from criminal prosecution.

My old friend had one of his legs amputated. We were at his bedside literally crying. His father collapsed in front of us and left hospital crying with a vow that he will never return and despite this, my boy still praises President Jammeh because of the few dalasi delivered to him personally by him [the president] at his bedside in the hospital during his visit there.

I told my friend that he is the biggest fool I ever come across as the money given to him is a token that cannot be seen as fair let alone adequate compensation for his indeterminate loss.

I said to the family that the guy needs justice and adequate state compensation for he is now a cripple for the rest of his life.

We even approached Ms Bensouda to take legal action on his behalf and guess what; Ms Bensouda said she was going to do it free provided the family will be brave enough to go through the court process with her. This was because we were schoolmates with one of her boys [he once shared the same class with the victim] and she too felt the pain. The idea was to secure a good compensation for him so that he can get on with his life with ease despite the disability. But when the President delivered the money, something like D12, 000 or so [can't fully remember but it is within that region, not more than D15, 000], they backed out. And yet it is the same people who are coming out looking for help and still praising President Jammeh. This is stupid.

My friend managed to leave Gambia through the help of certain relations but his disability is posing a big constraint to him which is indeed very sad.

Thanks

I do not oppose unity but I oppose dumb union.

FOROYAA Editorial : AGERA AND GAMBIAN DIASPORANS HAVING A FINE TIME IN ATLANTA WHILE APRIL 10TH VICTIM JAMMEH FACE EVICTION

"Gambians in the Diaspora constantly make reference to April 10 and 11 which led to the death and injuries of many students but when they hold commemoration no effort is made to raise funds to help the victims.

Abdoukarim Jammeh is one of the victims who have refused to be silent. He was in grade 9 when he was shot. After a long period of treatment which is still on going he managed to get enrolled in a skills training centre and later found a part time job at the Atlantic Hotel. During the last season he waited for reengagement but to no avail. Abdoukarim has been out of work for the past year and a half. His landlord has been very patient with him and he has accumulated a lot of arrears.

During the eleventh anniversary of the April 10 2000 catastrophe Abdoukarim had an interview with most of the media houses in the country which was published by many on line papers. He explained what happened to him as a grade 9 student and how that affected his whole educational career. He lamented the lack of support in getting further treatment until a Briton and a German collaborated to take him to Germany to help him reduce his disability. He met the conditions of his visa honourably and came back to the Gambia after his first treatment. He is supposed to go back for further operation but is still waiting for his sponsors to act.

In the mean time Gambians in the Diaspora continue to write about the problems of the students but no visible initiative is taken to address their plight.

Gambians with conscience should make it a duty to call on all Gambians and lovers of justice to give support to people like Abdoukarim so that they would not be reduced to paupers on the street. Abdoukarim is too dignified to go to the street and become a beggar. How long will he be able to hold on without support from those who claim that they have been outraged by the deaths and injuries which occurred on 10th and 11th April 2000.

Conscience speaks with action and not with mere crocodile tears."

Stop hallucinating Moe. Gambia ain't Alaska or the north pole… dream on, but you will not see the sun at midnight.

BTW, what's wrong with Forooyaa? It is not the RESPONSIBILITY of any individual or group of individuals to take care of other people's misfortunes. true, Abdulkarim's plight is sad and unfortunate. And it would be nice to lend him a helping hand, but Foroyaa is very unfair by scheming on shaming people into paying up when the real culprits are already named by a quasi-commission.

People should not be forced to pay for making their opinions and complaints public. Gambia is not a communist state in which an individual's misfortune should be paid for by the collective.

Talk of professionally shifting blame!
Lesson: Be very wary of "professional politicians."

This is not about April 11 but FOR A VICTIM APPEALING FOR ASSISTANCE; whose fate was being exploited by some militants (AGERA OR WHOEVER)championing him on the hostile political spotlights of state terror, gross abuse of freedoms and rights of citizens UNDER JAMMEH AND THE APRC GOVERNMENT

DAILY OBSERVER IS DOING PRO-GOVERNMENT PROPAGANDA AND IS GRTS (SUPPOSED TO BE A NATIONAL ENTITY) 100% FOR JAMMEH/APRC; SO IF FOROYAA SERVES AS A MEDIA FOR THE MARGINALISED AND THE VICTIM WALK TO THE OFFICE FOR THIS REQUEST, WHATEVER SAID AGAINST THE FOROYAA IS BIASED AND BASELESS BECAUSE DAILY NEWS AND OTHER ON-LINE MEDIA FEATURE HIS ORDEAL AND EACH YEAR THERE IS ACTIVISM/MILITANCY IN REMEMBRANCE OF APRIL10/11 BY CITIZENS

WHETHER WE ARE NOT A COMMUNIST STATE IS IRRELEVANT FOR THERE ARE BENEFITS, PROPER CARE AND WELFARE FOR DISABLE IN OTHER COUNTRIES
