Epitaph On A Tyrant W.H. Auden Perfection, of a kind, was what he was after, And the poetry he invented was easy to understand; He knew human folly like the back of his hand, And was greatly interested in armies and fleets; When he laughed, respectable senators burst with laughter, And when he cried the little children died in the streets.

Brother Santanfara, inimbara ko! but this is a very thought provoking poem, surely a way to go for some sick persons who go delirious with sadism on rampant display as it were. I am around but a little silent as it seems we are in for another round of gimmicky electioneering which for me ends with a foregone declaration of victory for the incumbent. What a farce! |

Thanks Kaaniba After watching the VOA covarage of the Uganda post election troubles, one is at loss of the African nightmare. The opposition leader was gas, beaten until one of his eye is not functioning properly. His car window broken, his suppoters attacked and he now went to America for treatment. Yet when we want a peaceful transition from one government to another, some see that as crazy. Currently, IEC has registered over 700,000 Gambians. If this figure is correct, then the Gambian population must be over 2 million people. Because 700,000 is more than half the adult population. What a cheating!!! All ugly manipulations shall have its sad demise. |

How true brother, we are just having to accept that our destiny lies in our own hands so we suffer what we cause to befall us.You see ; some people enjoy others misery, so they gloat on hearing or seeing these subjects suffer. It only becomes objectionable to them if it hurts them or their near and dear ones.African political problems are unique in their bizarre nature in that we generally feel a complete detachment from the suffering of others and see them as of no concern of ours ; which is egoism on the extremes of its paramters. until such time that we metamorphose into a more caring and sharing populace we shall continue to suffer the same indignities from our leaders who chose to be uncaring dictators; to whom , we are like rifle butts which do not stop firearms from firing at all as the mandeng say " kiddo juuto samatoe" The opposition is in disarray and the people are lost as a constituency in the political arena leaving the game up for grabs by the greedy leaders in a freebie state as it were. I have sympathies for our people but it seems to me that they are in it for the long haul and this means for a long time to come we are all going to suffer these ill treatments on us , our families and loved ones back home. Confusion is an understatement in this forum of concern of ours , it is a very obscene environment tainted by greed, envy and selfishness all corruptive to to the core. What we have brother , is a sick society and only God knows how to cure these ailments. Am I despondent ? Yes brother I am that and more but I also am a strong believer in God who will come to our aid one day. May God save our country and its dear people who are tinkering on the brink of a dangerous abyss amen |
