Prior to the down turn in the ecomony there are thoes that would not consider a long haul destination for their holidays. But now things have changed and people are looking for better value for money. But where to go is the question to get better value for your hard earned money so here is a list of some of the cheapest countries in the world where your money goes further. Any other suggestions?
ASIA Thailand Philipines Indonesia Malaysia Laos Vietnam India Nepal
AFRICA & MIDDLE EAST Morocco Egypt Jordan EUROPE Turkey Bulgaria Hungary Romania
THE AMERICA Mexico Guatemala Honduras Nicaragua Bolivia Peru Ecuador Argentina.
EUROPE Turkey Bulgaria Hungary Romania

Snuggles, Turk will be pleased that his country appears twice on your list,as we all know it straddles both East and West and appears to be taking the best from both segments of the world and moulding that to its own needs. Gambia is of course absent from your list value for money as a holiday destination, however you like me are still facinated by the people, culture, and climate of the smiling coast and smallest country in Africa. Will value for money for the holidaymaker ever return to The Gambia ?I very much doubt it,without attitudinal change from every Gambian and every tribesman of the Gambia. A great pity for a country with so much to offer. I hope that I am proved wrong. |

I 'agree' (Happy, touby?) that Gambia is expensive destination and if you rate in terms of value for money, it can't make the list. Personally, I don't see Gambia as my tourist destination, anyway. Like Turkey, Gambia is my home due to family ties. My favorite destination would be either south Asia, south america where there are plenty good options for value-for-money. Philippines is my top choice in south Asia. Brazil also tops in South America. Europe, N. America and especially Middle East are not my type cup of tea. |
diaspora! Too many Chiefs and Very Few Indians.
Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices. |

Didn't you know Toubab that the majority of Gambian Tourists are returnees? I also see that the Caribbean is missing from the list. They often have some cheap with lots of sun thrown in to the bargain.

Sister I know, but I think the topic under discussion was value for money (not so ?) and Gambia at this time does not reflect that as other places on the list compiled by snuggles possibly do,there are other factors in the list that have to be considered "visas" India for example ,air fares to these countries, many far away from Europe,(Not including Turkey ). Gambia is a place that you either love or cannot abide, money for the country has to come from somewhere, the average Gambian has LIMITED disposable income, hence the tourist (hard currency ) has to pay.
