The United Democratic Party of the Gambia in her efforts to bring the party closer to the Gambian Diaspora in Scandinavia in general and Sweden in particular, has given me the mandate to coordinate and facilitate the activities of the party here in Sweden. On that note, I pay a special thanks to the UDP-UK Chapter for believing in me, the party executives in the Gambia, party sympathisers and well wishers around the world.

I have taken this very honorable portfolio after standing and propagating as a neutral political commentator for the past almost ten years. The drive behind taking this position is based on a careful and long time analyses and performance of the Gambia's biggest opposition party under the leadership of Alhagie Ousainu Darboe.

The continuous support of the people of the Gambia enjoyed by the party is a clear proof that the UDP is the party to recon with. I join the party in solidarity with the majority of the Gambian people behind the Gambia's most dedicated and envisioned human rights lawyer, to safe the mother land from the claws and beaks of the vulture government that thrives on inducing fear, terror and countless human rights abuses for the past 16 years.

In our struggle through democratic means and with the support and backing of our sister opposition parties, the UDP-SWEDEN hopes to engage the Gambian population here to facilitate the formation of the next government of the republic of the Gambia come 2011 national elections. Ours is opening dialogue through contacts and communication with all who wish to understand our position.

We hope to reach you here in Sweden directly or through your families and friends here. In the name of the UDP of the Gambia and UDP /Uk, the UDP/Sweden wishes you all a merry Christmas and happy new year of change for the Gambia.

Kebba Abdoulie Sanneh
