The Gambian leader, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya AJJ Jammeh has been given the "Man of Peace and Citizen of the Year" 2010 Award by the organisers of the 'All White party' in recognition of his stance in promoting the ideology of peace and unity.

The award was received by the vice president, Aja Dr Isatou Njie-saidy, on behalf of the president at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium Wednesday during the launching of the Women Federation KMC chapter. Presenting the award, Momodou Lamin Touray of Touray Indicate Company disclosed that they have been organising the 'All White Party' since 2006, and that this year's event is dedicated to the president.

He also said they plan to bring back home Gambians in the Diaspora to witness the party. He hailed the president for being a man of peace, pointing out that even the way he dresses attests to that fact. He finally congratulated the president on the award. Touray further disclosed that the company was registered in 2004 and is excelling internationally. He added that it is now registered in Norway and excelling in the Scandinavia.

These guys are really funny.... what is peaceful about the dress code of a man carrying a machete and a baseball bat like club?

The folks in the picture's background look bored and uninterested...

Moe, you are Bantaba's citizen of the year!

They do look a little bored I must admit, but lets believe its at the very start of the party and things havn't warmed up yet, another thing that has just struck me is that if a party with such a title was advertised in the white mans country it would be greeted with shouts of raciest, this is inflamatory from the politically correct even though its all about the colour of clothing worn.I understand that white clothing is worn in some cultures by those in mourning.

Peace, stability, development. Thanks Jammeh, you deserve it. Keep up the good work!!!!

diaspora! Too many Chiefs and Very Few Indians.

Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices.

Thanks, toubab1020, for your research. Me thought too that this was a new political Party.
Anyways, to get the "party" going, another Award to Jammeh is a wise move:

Tam bo li de say de moi ya
Hey Jambo Jumbo
Way to parti o we goin'
Oh, jambali
Tam bo li de say de moi ya
Yeah, Jambo, jumbo

Oh, O, O, O, yes
We're going to have a party! (Yeah...ugh)

All night long (all night), All night, (all night)
All night long (all night), All night, (all night)
All night long (all night), All night, (all night)
All night long (all night).................(ugh)ll!

Prince "Yow waa Dehgi Nga", what do you know about ambiance and pizzaz. You see those peaceful white Haftans require more Dakandeh and starch than you can imagine. The Machete is a representation of our tradition and culture. May be you should revisit pictures of Gambian chiefs and religious leaders. My grand fathers Machete had two prongs. Bantaba has many citizens of the year thats why we are here everyday and night yapping ..............................................Peace
