Anti-racism & The World Cup. The quarter-finals of the competition will become anti-racism days with activities taking place inside and outside the stadiums. FIFA World Cup and Football Against Racism in Europe (FARE) network have met with FIFA president and delegates that will result in a series of anti-racism measures to raise awareness and monitor any potential problems.
Racism/Football / Fifa
Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand wants an opportunity to address the European Parliament after 420 Members of European Parliament signed a resolution calling for new laws, which would allow referees to halt matches if black players face racial abuse, or monkey chants. A recent meeting in Strasbourg called for players and coaches to speak out regularly against racism and give ref’s clear and strict guidelines to stop or abandon matches in the event of serious racist abuse.
We must ensure that colour, race and gender become only a God-given gift to each one of us and not an indelible mark or attribute that accords a special status to any / Mandela.

WHY SHOULD BLACK PEOPLE TAKE THIS monkey chants AS THEIR'S? PERSONALLY ME; I DON'T FEEL OFENDED WHEN SOMEONE MADE THIS monkey chants!!! DO WE (BLACK PEOPLE)LOOK LIKE MONKEYS? THIS IS VERY SIMPLE - IF SOMEONE BEHAVES LIKE MONKEY BY MAKING MONKEY NOISE THAT PERSON SHOULD BE SEEN AS THE MONKEY:-)!!! |

Don’t bank on it Jambo, I was watching the final /African Cup of Nations in Latri Kunda and anyone from that area on this bantaba will tell you that on the second round of penalties to be taken in the shoot out the wicked man at NAWEC pulled the plug again! If your compound has electricity keep ears alert to that who has generator/television nearby you may get an invite.
Best wishes to T&T’s in the World Cup – they have players who are playing in English clubs - Shaka Hislop / Stern John / Carlos Edwards / Dwight Yorke.
3. 0. to England.
I believe that Ivory Coast will get TO the final in The World Cup even though this is their first time, it will also be the first time I will cheer for Didier Drogba. I think they are all in European clubs so should be able to compete with Holland & Argentina.
Were you aware of the England VS The Rest of The World Soccer / Unicef on Saturday 27th at Old Trafford & Jamaica V England June 3rd? assuming you are in UK.

Hi Rainbow , I am from UK, but I noted from a previous posting that you worked with the late Omar Barrow so I assume you come from within the same area. Your not going to tell me now that you are Kola Toure brother-in-law are you? How about your feelings on the football? have I got it correct? regards, |

Sab you are killing me, i was already by the fantas, fish and chicken and now a generator . point taken, if i ever meet Mr NAWEC, i will ask for a refund. I was thinking of heading to Senegambia. On one of my trips to gambia Gambia was hosting the African youth cup, i went to two games with some of the students I sponsor, it was crazy. I have never witness anything like it. After gambia won through to the semi finals the roads were grid locked. Ever compund came alive. Football is such a leveller it goes across every class and social boundary there is. It was so funny, I bought tickets for the semi finals for to of the students. The gates opened at 1.00pm ione of them was waiting for the gates to open. I asked him why, he said why not, he had a ticket there was now reason to be at home. i would love to go to a local match but keep missing them.

Greetings Jambo, I remember when Senegambia was overgrown land. Now look what they have done to it. Whatever do you need to go to Senegambia for? no local football there unless you play footy with the pizza's! (probably break your toe)
Local football has finished, rains just around the corner, they are more sensible than Europe trying to play in rain. So I am afraid you will have to buy the generator & diesel and enjoy the The World Cup Gambian style, for sure they know how to celebrate!
Safe journey, sab.
