Will this development pave way for a union of all opposition parties? Hope the parties will provide more information about this alliance.

quote: The Party as part of the strategic Alliance shall not accept the final results of the election if the processes leading towards Election 2011 are not free, fair and transparent, including the absence of fear and other pernicious elements.
Oh, the excuse is already established. They will lose election not because they are not capable, they lose because election was not free, fair and transparent. I don't know what planet these people living but the support of Gambians for president is real and overwhelming. At least every one of two men and women walking on the ground in Gambia support the president with passion. In rural area, support is even more. |

Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices. |

The whole situation stays cloudy so long as it is not clear what political card tricks remains to be played.
With clean and free political atmosphere, a united party gainst this rogue regime is one big sweep.
For noiw it is a matter of wait and see. |

I can assure everyone here that the main opposition United Democratic Party is doing everything humanely possible to forge an all-inclusive opposition coalition before the 2011 Presidential election on the basis of universal principles of coalition building. However, we must all appreciate that this is a painstaking process as they are dealing with human beings, a complicated creature, which are not like baskets that you can put on your head and carry alone with. I commend to you all to wish them good luck in this great endeavour of national importance.
Already, the UDP leader has had one meeting with NADD/PDOIS representative after several procrastinations by the latter. This is not in itself a cause for optimism but a manifestation of the ball being rolled.
I hope PDOIS will not throw their usual intransigence and dogmatic invectives into this and thereby making themselves an unworthy line to pursue.
Regards

PDOIS must refuse the unity with UDP and go alone. Jammeh will sweep the election in 2011 whether there is unity or not they will force the retirement of UDP leader with no political skill. It is contagious to became sub-standards and PDOIS must not let this happen to them. UDP is already on decline and it will be buried and this is better opportunity to take over the opposition role for longer term. Instead of patches of unity, the opposition must be established based on an ideology, health condition and members. |

No cash required but I like Attaya over nice chat with local vegetation in jinnack island that would suffice for your appreciation. I am not supporting Jammeh but he has a value to bring to the nation, UDP on the other hand has nothing to offer, no vision and their collective political intelligence is below 0 celcius. However, democracy requires good opposition and I think Halifa Sallah could focus on that for now and play for the long term. PDOIS should not mess what it has.

GAMBIA BELONG TO ALL OF US! ANY AGENDA FOR 2011 CAN ONLY BE DICTATED TO SERVE NATIONAL INTERESTS AND NOT TO SERVE ANY POLITICAL PARTY; BE IT UDP, NRP, PPP, GMC OR PDOIS! THEREFORE SOME OF US WILL NOT COMPROMISE WHAT IS AT STAKE IN THE INTERESTS OF NATION FOR CHEAP PROPAGANDA AND PUBLICITY WITH ONLINE MEDIA!
MAI FATTY CHAIRMAN OF GMC IS A FUGITIVE RUNNING GMC AS ONE MAN PARTY AND NEVER TESTED ON GAMBIAN POLITICS! HE CAN MAKE DEALS WITH LAWYER AND BANK ON HIM FOR LEGAL DEFENCE WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH!
A UNITED NATIONAL FRONT IS ALL-INCLUSIVE & NOT DIVISIVE POLITICS! HOW DIS-RESPECTFUL IN NOT EVEN EXTENDING GRATITUDE TO PDOIS/NADD IN THE COMMUNIQUE; AS IF THEY ARE UNTOUCHABLES?
THE NATIONAL CAKE IS EVERY ONE & PDOIS/NADD POSITION WILL FIGHT FOREVER TO MOBILISE MASS SUPPORT & PROMOTE RE-JUVENATION OF A SOUND COALITION SIMILAR TO WHAT "NATIONAL ALLIANCE FOR DEMOCRACY & DEVELOPMENT" REPRESENTED = A UNITED NATIONAL FRONT FOR ALL OPPONENTS OF JAMMEH/APRC!
THEY WILL NEVER ABANDON PDOIS/NADD AND ACCEPT ANY FORM OF "HOODWINK" JOIN UDP. REMINDER ON THE INITIATIVES OF PDOIS/NADD AS FOLLOWS;
1. "PDOIS wrote to UDP before its Congress to indicate to them that the party was waiting for the resolution of the UDP Congress on inter party unity in order to know what form of Alliance could be forged for 2011. QUOTATION:"Some opposition leaderships have only personal ambitions - they aspire to leadership and they behave as if it's a divine right for them to lead. I don't think it's politically prudent for somebody who have been rejected over and over and over to still offer himself as a candidate. It doesn't make sense to me. For the UDP trying to accept Ousainou for the fourth time as their presidential candidate and still hope he could win.... I don't think any good politician's ambitions should be personal. I will not be surprised if the UDP ofers him and he gets his deposit. He for example, is now engaged in a a politics of foolishness that is translated into a personality cult. and yet some of his supporters are demanding for presidential term limit in The Gambia.
If an always-looser can demand to stand, how acn he demand for a winner to step down? This is what is happening. Jammeh has always been winning and Ousainou has always been loosing."Waa Juwara

Waa has raised very valid points in this quote. I did not read Waa's interview because he is a turncoat but might be I should read it. |

Maybe Gambia should also have 'oppositional term limit' too beside the 'presidential term limit' for those who don't get they are a failure. |
