PLEASE TAKE NOTE

  • "Today no Gambian leader could be considered genuine unless he or she accepts in both word and deed, that power belongs to the people and that he or she is their mere servant."

"PDOIS wishes to alert all Gambians that democratic change is only possible if the people have the aspiration and exercise the will power to make it possible."

  • SO LET (ALL OPPONENTS) STRIVE TO WORK TOGETHER; MOBILISED A POWERFUL OPPOSITION FORCE OF THE MASSES WITH A DYNAMIC LEADER TO EFFECT THE CHANGE WE WANT & AVOID BEING TAKING FOR A RIDE AS DONKEYS!

    ACTION SPEAK LOUDER THAN VOICES

That Halifa counts the position of political leaders as servants of people is a colorful feather on his hat!

Unless public position holders recognise and embrace this one solid fact of life, they become hostile and prone to abusing the positions. It is such sickness that Yaya jammeh and many others suffer. Who says that some people in other parties are not thinking like that?

" Fatou, as far as I am concerned, the problem with Gambia is not about illiteracy and literacy - it is a deeper problem than that. First, the biggest problem today in the Gambia are the so called educated or intellectuals, for they are the ones lining up for jobs from Jammeh. They are the ones forcing their subordinates to go and cultivate Jammeh's farm, they are his ministers and defenders, the very people who would write letters to the editors thanking Jammeh for hiring them, this after they have been fired and humiliated. . It is the intellectuals who serve as Permanent Secretaries and Directors who are parading their employees to Jammeh’s farm to cultivate it. They are the ones who are more interested in saving their jobs than standing for what is right, we all remember Dr. Amadou Janneh, who coined the phrase “Aimless People Running the Country”, but he had no problem joining the tyrant when offered a job.

The denigration of Gambians to mere beggars and the appeasement of the tyrant is one of our leading problems. We recently saw Africell donating two hundred rams to Yahya Jammeh, not that he needs them but as an insurance for their company against his assault and as long as this continues, no amount of education and enlightenment will free us. The culture of selfishness and beggardom must cease if we are to go anywhere.

Awareness is the key to sound decision making. The APRC is transforming the year to one of patronage and fanfare. PDOIS will transform it into a year of information sharing and awareness raising so that patronage and fanfare will not stifle the sovereign will of the Gambian people to become the architects of their own destiny."

    Kobo,

When all thick blaming fingers pointing to the crack skull of Yaya as destroyer of the Gambian nation, people like Turk jump about with lousy opinions that it is because Yaya is a popular choice.

Tell you what, the only one way through which Yaya keeps riding the back of unwilling Gambians is due to his command of weapons and being too low in sense.

This man has destroyed order in Gambia in ways that genuine politics does not have 'home' to breed. Look at the political 'infrastructure' of Gambia and see how the bandit plants landmines all around.

Sad as it is, Yaya will do whatever it takes to cling on this seat. Remember as a thief he knows how to defend the stolen property. What Jammeh is doing is playing with time. In that process he wants to knock out political opponents of certain age brackets. Then the younger generation would have no standards to compared his misrule with anything better.

Unless politicians understand and take action against Yaya in the game, they have no chance of winning.

Someone who forced his way to power and sticks on all the while, that is serious trouble.

Short and simple, there is no place for Yaya in Gambian politics. The whole nation has it as a duty to come together as you suggested in your earlier posts.

Once there is the atmosphere free from gun trigger bandits, then and only then genuine politics because practical reality.

Going by what obtains, it is hard to see how these armed bandits will permit sanity in Gambian politics.
