AMRC takes over collection of NAWEC’s debts

The Point: Monday, June 05, 2017

http://thepoint.gm/africa/gambia/article/amrc-takes-over-collection-of-nawecs-debts

The Assets Management and Recovery Corporation (AMRC) wishes to inform the general public especially debtors of NAWEC that the Government of the Republic of The Gambia has invoked the AMRC Act as Amended and granted approval for the Assets Management and Recovery Corporation (AMRC) to henceforth recover the debts owed to NAWEC by both the Public and Private Institutions with effect from the date hereof.

Those Public and Private Institutions affected will be contacted and are urged in advance to cooperate with the AMRC in the discharge of its statutory mandate.

Consequently, the affected debtors’ account would now be managed by the AMRC and all the payments for the settlement of their debts should be directly paid into the AMRC/NAWEC Special Account.

These are now different times and I hope that embezzlement and theft of money from any institution, private co. or government utility do not occur in future in Gambia.
It must be recognised that in today's world values of most people have changed from the fairly recent past where attributes such as, love compassion, thoughtfulness, truthfulness, fair play were the cornerstones of SOME peoples of the world,NOW EVERYTHING revolves about MONEY and how much can I get by any means!!!!.

A step in the right direction, I only hope that AMRC will be successful in recovering the FULL amount of MONEY owed by "both the Public and Private Institutions" I think that they will have a BIG COMPLICATED job to do once they start.
I shall be very interested in ANY future PUBLIC announcements from AMRC as to the ammounts collected.
