Two top ex-officials of the former National Intelligence Agency (NIA) have been arrested and detained.

Yankuba Badjie, who was the former director general of the agency, and Sheikh Omar Jeng, former Director of Operations, were Monday arrested and detained at Brusubi Police Station.

The Police PRO has confirmed the arrest.

Security sources said they are interrogating them for certain allegations of human rights abuses during the former regime.

The duo were sacked 2nd February this year.
