Although Jammeh conceded the election graciously on live television, observers worry he may mobilize an insurgency from outside the country to take back his position. “He can’t leave. If he leaves, he’s going to escape us,” Jallow-Tambajang told the paper. Read more http://qz.com/856978/the-gambias-outgoing-president-yahya-jammeh-will-face-prosecution-within-a-year/
Can those so-called opposition leaders vouch they will NOT be embroiled in rampant corruption, money laundering and other dirty businesses one year from now after the joyful celebrations following their victory ? Jammeh built elementary schools, grammar schools, universities, roads, hospitals etc. Education was free, and under his rule students were not require to buy tables they would sit on in classroom, something that was part of everyday life under Dawda Jawara ( 1962-1994), his predecessor. Jawara was Prime Minister :12 June 1962 – 24 April 1970, then President 1970-1994 He was more busy playing the statesman abroad when his country was sinking. Moreover , recently Jawara's wife brought shame on Africa and The Gambia in the U.K Read this

Jammeh restored the dignity of this country and gave up power without any resistance although many were thinking the contrary about him. He withdrew from the International Caucasian court ( International Crimiminal Court ). A court that does nothing but intimidate, prosecute and jail African leaders, leaving criminal Western leaders enjoy a peaceful retirement after causing the death of millions of people in Iraq, Libya, Syria, Cote d'Ivoire, DRC ( Democratic Republic of the Congo. He banned homosexuals from his country and today you can bet thanks to him HIV rate is very low in his country compared to many other countries. This is the man that the new authorities want to prosecute in the name of "Democracy". One wonders whether DEMOCRACY is a panacea . Last but not least, if Jammeh is prosecuted, and the new government fails to deliver, this country will go through a bloody military coup. The new leader will execute many people and refuse to hold any election in at least 25 years. |

The President-Elect has spoken and I believe thats the official position: Statement from the President Elect Adama Barrow!
The Coalition spoksman has also stated that "Coalition has never discussed Jammeh’s fate".
Thanks. It looks like it is kind of too late. The only thing we can now do is to pray. Other than that the military man felt something fishy and he is now clinging to power fearing he would be humiliated if he ever gives up. This is how bloody civil wars start in Africa. Those wars benefit nobody but those fake western philanthropists who are nothing but a bunch of human body parts traffickers and stooges of the war industry. Hopefully the Gambian people will realize ICC, Obama,The U.N, the European Union, ECOWAS and the African Union are NOT reliable folks. |
