Gambia’s diplomatic ties with other countries is very poor—GDC leader

 Hon. Mamma Kandeh, leader of The Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC), has said that diplomatic ties with The Gambia and other countries is very poor. He said most of the embassies have left the country and if you are looking for a visa you have to go to other countries.
The GDC leader made these statements on Tuesday when he was addressing thousands of people in Gambisara. He said that the country needs change, pointing out that after twenty two years of President Jammeh’s rule the people are encountering a lot of difficulties. “I think it is better for him to step down and give it to someone else,” he asserted.
Hon. Mamma Kandeh told the people of Gambisara to vote for him so that he can change this country and bring development. He assured the people of Gambisara that come 1 December he will win the election and if that happens he would bring a lot of development to the country.
Dilating on President Jammeh’s Vision 2016, Hon. Mamma Kandeh added that the idea is good but that he wants to tell President Jammeh that he does not have the plan to do it because this system needs a lot of money to run it. He said President Jammeh announced that come 2016 there will be no importation of rice in this country and this is not happening.
The GDC leader said GDC is here for peace and their aim is to bring peace to the country and work as a team to develop The Gambia. He said without peace development would not take place and he is calling on each and every one to maintain the peace of this country and respect the law. Mamma Kandeh therefore thanked the People of Gambisara and its surrounding for the warm welcome they accorded him. He promised the People of Gambisara that come 1 December when he wins the election he will do the celebration in Gambisara. He said The Gambia belongs to all of us so we should work together to develop it.
In Basse Mansajang, the GDC leader also addressed a large crowd of supporters saying that the people of Mansajang did not gain any development for twenty two years. He said they have been voting for President Jammeh for twenty two years and yet still there are no good roads, no regular supply of electricity.
Regarding Buba Baldeh, Hon. Mamma Kandeh told supporters that a big politician like Buba Baldeh a citizen by birth born in Basse Mansajang who has contributed a lot in the history of this country died in Senegal but President Jammeh and his government refused to allow his corpse to be brought back to this country. He said this is something which is very bad and with the help of God this would soon come to an end.
He said when GDC comes into power they will build a museum in Basse which will house the history of all those who fought for the Independence of this country. He went on to inform supporters that enslavement of people would soon stop in this country because come 1 December with God’s power GDC will announce victory.
Turning on the religious aspect, the GDC leader said a President has no right to interfere with religion, noting that people have the right to belong to the religion of their choice. He said instead President Jammeh should not tell people when they should observe Tobaski.
Hon. Mamma Kandeh also told supporters that President Jammeh has no right to change an alkalo of a particular town or village because he does not know how that alkalo came to that village.
He said when the GDC comes to power they will not decide when people should pray or replace an alkalo of a particular village.

Peace brings development, says Mamma Kandeh

 The leader of the Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC), Mamma Kandeh, has told the people of Fatoto and Kulari that it is peace that prepares the ground for development in a country.
Addressing a large crowd in Kulari, Mamma Kandeh thanked the people for the warm welcome, saying their problems have been noted and God-willing, when GDC comes to power, their problems would be addressed.
Meanwhile, in the Upper River Region, the GDC leader told supporters that his party has come to end hardship in the country, while promising to construct the road from Basse to Fatoto to ease the movement of people, goods and services.
The GDC leader said the party is here for peace, as it is peace that would bring development in a country.
He assured the people of the area that his intention is to develop the country, but not to divide people.
Mamma Kandeh further informed his supporters that “our grand grand fathers were here and they died and left The Gambia; so the same thing, we would also die and leave The Gambia. So what is important is to bring peace and develop the country, not for us but for our children and grandchildren tomorrow.”
He told his supporters that when GDC comes to power, they would make sure people exercise their rights without fear because he believes that is democracy.
On agriculture and education, the GDC leader said his government would do everything possible to attain quality education in the country, not just to build schools.
“Agriculture is also my priority, and we would make sure that the people of the country would benefit from it.”
The communities of Fatoto and Kulari assured him of their support, and promised to vote for him, come December 1.
Also in the villages of Njoben CRR South, Pateh Niamina, Kerr Mahalima, Babou Jobe and Sambang Mandinka, the people there all assured the GDC leader that they would vote for him massively, come December 1.
