It has become increasingly obvious to me that something like PAGE was going to be utilised to develop the Gambia, companies would take calculated risks to make a profit from their projects .
I chose to highlight Waste Management as an almost certain function that would be chosen for any plan for the future.
Previous attempts to improve matters by attitudinal change, have failed abysmally.

NEDI signs deal with US-based sewage technology firm

Monday, August 18, 2014

The National Enterprise Development Initiative (NEDI) has entered into another one-year project with AGUA Incorporate, a US-based water and sewage treatment firm, to implement social business mentorship guidelines and microfinance strategies for young Gambians.

The general manager of NEDI, Landing B. Sanyang, and Aubrey Declercc of AGUA Inc., signed the two-page document, committing the two parties to actively collaborate and meet the project’s objectives.

It came a week after NEDI last week signed a D2, 267, 550 one-year youth entrepreneurship development training project with the Gambia Growth and Competitiveness Project (GCP), under its Matching Grant Facility (MGF), targeting 350 young Gambians.

Under the agreement, NEDI will facilitate and provide AGUA Inc. with access and referral to local youth entrepreneurs and may help with the collaborative provision of educational prototyping resources and tolls to be stored and used at the AGUA Campus in Bijilo.

Commenting on this development, Landing B. Sanneh, expounded that under the agreement, the two parties will collaborate in exchange of knowledge, experience and sharing information on youth entrepreneurship development, focusing on innovation and appropriate technology for local utilisation.

AGUA Inc. director of Education, Ryan Glatt, said he is hopeful that his institution’s collaboration with NEDI will bring lots of innovative technologies among Gambian youths. “When the public and private sector come together, they can make a rapid change,” he concluded.
