Let's Hope The Retreat will show consolidation between the many stakeholders' in this important subject,there has been much written on Bantaba in Cyberspace over the years and the many unsavory and corrupt practices that are involved.Kobo doubtless will be able to provide many links if he has the time he has been quiet recently !!

A desperate and frustrating looking 56 year old man of Sukuta Mambuna Kabilo in a trembling voice told the media at his cashew farm that he is at the point of losing his livelihood. "I have spent over 20 solid years farming on this piece of land measuring 80x80meters on which land I have over 200 cashew trees. I can’t lose this land just like this; a land that I toiled and soiled and suffered for 20 solid years" Lamin said. He was speaking to the members of the press at his cashew farm on Friday 7th February 2014.

I hope when the president sees this report he can tell whether this is what should happen; after all these hard work just for some people to come and twist my hands and give my property away to those who did not toil for it.

I could not believe my eyes, when I saw a group of people who came and were measuring the area which belong to me and several others of our community. Upon enquires we were told that the people are from the physical planning department.....

2. Ministry begins demolition of illegal structures

A demolition exercise targeting illegal structures along the Bertil Harding Highway to the Airport Junction has begun Thursday under the supervision of the Ministry of Regional Government and Lands through its Department of Physical Planning.

The exercise, which commenced at the main Traffic Light Junction, came after the Ministry issued a press release notifying that it would carry out the process to clear the stretch of illegal structures.....
