The Social Security and Housing Finance Corporation (SSHFC) has disclosed that pensioners will effective today benefit from payment increment and 13 months drawback.

SSHFC’s strategic objective is to provide social protection to its pensioners; whose welfare and wellbeing continue to be their top most priority have in recent years not benefited from any pension increase, the last of which was in 2011, irrespective of the continued rise in inflation and cost of living.

As a result of this, SSHFC management in consultation with the board of directors informs Gambians that there is a pension increase and also a payment of pension drawback retrospective 1st January 2018 to all its active pensioners.

In this regard, SSHFC pensioners will receive their pensions for the month of February 2019 together with a pension drawback of 13 months, from January 2018 to January 2019 on Thursday 21st February 2019.

It’s revealed that pensioners who receive their pensions through the banks, their pension and the drawback will be paid into their respective accounts, while those who receive their pensions at designated areas in different regions will be paid in the usual manner.

"Simple is good" & I strongly dislike politics. You cannot defend the indefensible.
