I think that it should be pointed out that President Barrow has been very busy in the recent past traveling and meeting many people speaking to those who are of the same official status as himself. It is MOST important that he is known internationally and makes friends ,the birth of his NEW Gambia is a totally unusual concept for SOME African leaders to grasp. I have no doubt that the President will address the National Assembly as soon as he is able and tell them of the progress he has made during his important travel to far off places. This is all about politics and as everyone knows NOTHING is done in a hurry there always seems to be some delay before any action is taken in most cases. ====================================================
According to section 77(1) of the Constitution,
“The President shall at least once in each year attend a sitting of the National Assembly and address a session on the condition of The Gambia, the policies of the Government and the administration of the State.”
The President was scheduled to address the National Assembly on Friday 22nd June 2018 but this did not take place. We are now in July. When will he address the National Assembly on the “condition of The Gambia, the policies of the Government and the administration of the State”?
