AT LAST much needed reduction in commodity prices for the average Gambian,this could be the beginning of a genuinely happy smiling coast under a new administration.

Government sources have confirmed to this paper that the price of cement which was costing D325 has now D280.
The source added that by first weeks of April, it will be costing D260.
In similar development, officials sources have it that a price of rice will be significantly reduced starting from the first week of April and would cost less than a thousand dalasis.

A liberal economy however may introduce regulatory policies but would not be able to impose price control. Foroyaa will investigate the prices of basic commodities and gauge how much is being paid on taxes on those commodities.
