THE CHANGING FACE OF THE MINISTRY OF THE INTERIOR
Foroyaa Editorial: September 20, 2016 http://www.foroyaa.gm/archives/12103#more-12103
This is an election year. The ministry of the Interior should play a major role in promoting police -political party relation to prepare the ground for free and fair elections.
It is the ministry that should create the security environment that would be free from any arbitrary arrest and intimidation. It is therefore interesting that there is a major shakeup at the ministry less than three months before an election.
The reason for the shakeup is not known.
Foroyaa will follow up the aftermath of the shakeup and assess the impact the changes will have on the security situation as it relates to the operation of political parties in an election year.
