This is defiantly newsworthy,could it be yet another sign of Attitudinal change, personal responsibility having to be shouldered by those in charge and making sure that all their staff are fully trained and know exactly that they also have personal responsibility for what they do at work.

"The Committees equally urged the permanent secretary (PS) at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs to prepare himself for future challenges. “The pressure on you, permanent secretary, is going to multiply year-after-year even whereas these problems are not foreseen. If you are responsible for the national economy, you should be more scrutinised than others. So the challenge on you as an individual leader is too heavy; therefore, you must be watchful to make sure that effective and efficient work takes place. The people under you are many; others are smart and others cruel,” admonished the speaker of the House, Hon. Abdoulie Bojang.
Bojang argued that The Gambia is a tax-based economy, and as such, resources must be judiciously managed.
“Furthermore, the PAC/PEC wants to make it very clear that it will frown seriously on the simple administrate lapses, like missing vouchers, and payment without supporting documents among others, and would not hesitate to take action against responsible officers under you for negligence of their duties,” Bojang reiterated."
