Both Momodou Sabally and Momodou F. K. Kolley have been sacked.
  Sabally was minister for Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology for a few days prior to which he was the minister of Presidential Affairs, Secretary General and Head of Civil Service.
Momodou Kolley was minister of Lands and Regional Governments.
 Momodou Aki Bayo is now re-appointed minister of Lands and Regional Governments. Momodou Aki Bayo was removed from the same ministry in August 2013.

Sabally, Kolley leave the Cabinet
The Point: Tuesday, July 08, 2014
 President Yahya Jammeh has sacked Momodou Sabally, the minister of Higher Education, and Momodou FK Kolley minister of Lands.
A press release from State House issued Monday announced that the two ministers were relieved of their cabinet appointments with immediate effect.
Sabally was the minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, and Kolley was the minister of Lands and Regional Government.
President Jammeh has appointed Momodou Aki Bayo as the new minister of Lands and Regional Government with effect from Monday 7th July 2014, to replace Kolley.
“The portfolio of the ministry of Higher Education, Research Science and Technology is now under the purview of the Office of the President”, the release added.

 1. Dr. Kalilou Bayo is Presidential Affairs minister
The Point News Thursday, July 10, 2014
President Yahya Jammeh has appointed Dr. Kalilou Bayo as minister for Presidential Affairs, secretary-general at the Office of the President in Banjul and head of the civil service, with effect from Tuesday July 8.
This was announced Wednesday by GRTS radio, which indicated that exactly eight days after President Jammeh appointed Abdoulie Sallah as the new minister for Presidential Affairs “with immediate effect” (announced last Tuesday 1 July), Mr Sallah has been “re-assigned” as secretary to the Cabinet, his previous post, “with immediate effect”.
It would be recalled that Abdoulie Sallah was sworn in as minister for Presidential Affair on Thursday July 3, and replaced former Presidential Affairs minister Momodou Sabally, who was redeployed as minister for Higher Education and subsequently sacked from the Cabinet on Monday July 7.
He replaced Abdoulie Sallah, who was redeployed as secretary to the Cabinet, announced GRTS radio on Wednesday evening.
  2. ‘I will not appoint anyone to trample on others’

The president of the Republic has decried the attitude of people using their power or position to terrorise other’s, vowing that he will not appoint anyone to trample on colleagues. The president also condemned what he described as double standards among some Gambians, especially those who fail to correct a particular government official doing the wrong things, but yet speculate once the person gets his marching orders.
His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya Jammeh was speaking Thursday afternoon at State House while presiding over the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed secretary general, head of the Civil Service and Presidential Affairs minister, Dr. Kalilou Bayo as well as the ministers of Lands and Regional Government, and Energy, Momodou Aki Bayo and Dr. Edward Saja Sanneh respectively.
The trio took three oaths – office, secrecy and allegiance – and vowed to execute the functions of their respective offices without ‘fear’ or ‘favour’, ‘affection’ or ‘ill-will’. The oaths were administered by the secretary to cabinet, Abdoulie Sallah.
The Gambian leader, in his remarks, clearly stated: “I would not appoint anybody to trample on others. I do not do so because I know I am not God. I know that we are all human beings and my position is just a position that Allah has given me and He has given me because I have to be servant of the people. So I would not step on the people because I am the president and I see no reason why anybody should step on people because he/she is a minister or whatsoever, not under my administration! Jammeh fires two ministers, appoints Nyabally as SG
The Point: Friday, January 09, 2015
 According to State TV, President Yahya Jammeh yesterday Thursday made another cabinet reshuffle.
Dr Kalilou Bayo, Secretary General, Minister responsible for Presidential affairs and Civil Service, and Basiru Mahoney, Attorney General and Minister of Justice were removed from the cabinet.
No official reason was given.
Dr Bayo was appointed in June last year, and Mahoney last August.
Lamin Nyabally, Deputy Secretary General, has been appointed as Secretary General and Minister responsible for Presidential Affairs and the Civil Service.
Dr Aboubacarr Senghore, Minister for Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, is overseeing the Ministry of Justice in Banjul.

The executive should seek legal advice before making appointments. The country is now without an Attorney General and Minister of Justice. MrBasiru Mahoney was removed on Thursday, 8 January 2015 but nosubstantive appointment was made. The public is informed that the
Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology is to oversee the Ministry of Justice. That begs the question: Who is the Attorney General of the Republic?
Section 71(2) states among other things that:
“……a person shall not be qualified to be appointed Attorney General unless he or she is a legal practitioner of at least five years standing at the Gambian bar.”
Hence no one could serve as Attorney General who is not a legal practitioner of at least five years standing at the Gambian bar.
Furthermore, the Constitution is quite clear on the role of the Attorney General.
SECTION 72(2) states that
“The Attorney General shall be the principal legal adviser to the Government and shall have the right of audience in all courts in The Gambia.”

New Minister of Justice appointed

President Yahya Jammeh has appointed Mama Fatima Singhateh as Attorney General and Minister of Justice to replace Basiru Mahoney, who was removed from the cabinet last Thursday.
Mrs Singhateh, whose appointment took effect from 12 January 2015, was previously Attorney General and Minister of Justice.
She was removed from the cabinet in August 2014.

Abdou Kolley bounces back as Finance Minister, Kebba Touray redeployed as ambassador

 President Yahya Jammeh has re-appointed Abdou Kolley to serve as Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, and deployed Kebba S. Touray, who was finance minister, to the foreign service as an ambassador, with effect from 16 March 2015, according to a press release aired yesterday by state TV.
Mr Touray was moved from the Trade Ministry to the Finance Ministry in July 2013, where he was until this latest redeployment.

Sulayman Samba appointed as presidential affairs minister, Bammy Jagne works

 Sulayman Samba has been reappointed Secretary General, head of the civil service and Minister of Presidential Affairs, with effect from 18 August 2016.
Mr Samba was removed as Secretary General on 30 June 2016.
Bammy Jagne, who was his successor and whom he now replaces, is now Minister of Transport, Works and Infrastructure.
All appointments are with immediate effect, a press release from the Office of the President stated.

It was announced in the 10 pm news of GRTS television on Thursday, 18 August, 2016 that Mr. Dodou Bammy Jagne has been Sulayman Sambarelieved of his position as Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service and Minister of Presidential Affairs and redeployed to the portfolio of Minister of Transport, Works and Infrastructure, with effect from Thursday, 18 August 2016
In a similar vein, Mr. Sulayman Samba, the former Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service and Minister of Presidential Affairs, who was removed from this post on 30 June 2016 (less than two months ago) has bounced back again to the same position.

SARJO JALLOW DISMISSED, DISAPPEARS

 The newly appointed ‘Deputy Minister’ of Foreign Affairs, Mr Sarjo Jallow, was dismissed on 1 September 2016. He then disappeared from his residence at Kerr Serigne on 2 September 2016.
According to an official announcement, broadcast on the state owned GRTS, the 60 year old was appointed ‘Deputy Minister’ of Foreign Affairs with effect from 23 August 2016. But barely before being sworn in or assuming office, he suddenly and mysteriously disappeared from his residence.
According to his wife, Jainaba Bah, he arrived in The Gambia on Tuesday 30 2016 to assume office and was residing in a property in Kerr Serigne purportedly owned by a senior government minister. But on Wednesday, the house was burgled and some items were missing. The door was repaired and on Thursday 1 September 2016, he proceeded to Soma to attend a funeral. Upon his return, he found that the house was burgled for the second time and this time the wife’s lap top and some documents were among the missing items.
Jainaba Bah added that on Friday, 2 September 2016, her husband, Sarjo Jallow, decided to get the door of the house repaired. She said that she spoke to him on the phone at about 8.54 am and expressed her concerns about the latest development. This was the last time she heard from him. She noted that Mr Ousman Manjang, a colleague of Mr Jallow, spoke to him on the phone at about 10 am. Mr Manjang has expressed grave concern through the media about the disappearance of his colleague.
Mr Jallow worked first as Secretary to the Scholarship Board, then as Minister of Information and Communication, then as Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture and as Gambian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the African Union.
