Mustapha Njie was born in Banjul in 1957, and upon completion of his professional training, he worked for international construction firms in the Gambia for thirteen years. He established his own construction company in 1990 and called it “TAF Construction Company Limited”. With dedication and hard work, within two years, he transformed the business into a Holding Company with interest in Building Materials Supplies, Real Estate and Tourism Development. TAF holding company provides employment for over 500 Gambians and contributes to the strengthening of civil society through philanthropic gestures as well as provides sponsorship to needy students and sports in The Gambia.
The Taf Construction Company Ltd. was founded in 1990 in Banjul by the dynamic Gambian born building entrepreneur (Moustapha) Mustapha Njie often referred to as Taf.
He owns & runs The Gambia's leading home-grown and most thriving construction company who also lease, rent and sell properties at Brufut Gardens. The firm began its growth by erecting small scale housing units for private residencies.
Early success and unmatched business performance allowed the company to compete for contracts with foreign competitors. Over time Taf added to its portfolio the wholesale and retail supply of building materials, the building of large scale tourist accommodations and real estate development in The Gambia. After over 10 years of success the various arms of the business were consolidated under the new holding company.
In 1996, when the Gambia was to host the African union Summit, Mustapha Njie was tasked to design, build and furnish 52 Presidential Villas. This was completed in a record time of four months with satisfaction. As a result, Mr. Njie was jointly nominated the “2006 Man of the Year” by the Gambia News and Daily Report.
In the course of his business, career, he has bagged several awards and distinctions such as European Commission Global Business Award for Excellence and Quality. Three times The Gambia Chamber of Commerce Businessman of the Year (1993, 2004 and 2006. Gambian honorable businessman by ECOWAS in 2010. Mr. Njie has also been decorated with an Insignia of Member of the Republic of The Gambia (MRG) by His Excellency, The President of The Republic of The Gambia. He has also been awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree by the Irish University Business School in 2004.
Mustapha Njie has served in many Boards including the President’s Award Scheme, The Gambia Youth Business Trust, the National Printing and Stationery Corporation, Gambia Ports Authority and Gamtel. He is the current Chairman of the National Training Authority and a Member of the Board of Directors of the Trust Bank Limited. Mr. Mustapha Njie is married with children.

Well done indeed, A LOT OF CREDIT must go to Balfour Beatty,(Yes Gambiabev, a BRITISH company ) and those who he worked with at that time showing him the CORRECT way to make GOOD building.
Mustapha Njie is obviously a man with an Excellent brain and not afraid to move forward with the times AND WORK HARD HIMSELF,sorry to say something that MANY Gambian men do not understand, and make his fortune. Well done. |

The information from this video is a manifestation that TAF Holding Company Ltd is now a multi-billion dalasi company and grown as a multinational business enterprise. There were rife reports that TAF felt out with dictator Jammeh on Brufut gardens investments & Presidential villas, even deserted the country because he has not been on business spotlight for awhile. Whilst there were lots of negative speculations between him and despot Jammeh, on the whole TAF struck the jackpot and expanded across sub-region. What is keeping him away from country is now known to be busy chasing the Billion Naira River State project and expanding TAF Holding Company Ltd business market |
