Even the best and most straight foward lawyers are not exempt from being defendants ,however this ended well in an out of court settlement.

Suit against Moses Richards withdrawn Africa » Gambia Monday, October 18, 2010 One Musa Joof, a businessman residing at Kololi who recently instituted a civil suit against Moses Richards, a former judge at the Special Criminal Court, has withdrawn the said suit before the Banjul Magistrates Court presided over by Principal Magistrate Emmanuel Nkea.
According to the particulars of claims, the plaintiff, Musa Joof was claiming the sum of D197, 000, being monies paid to the defendant, Moses Richards to process the transfer of ownership of a property. The plaintiff was also claiming the return of the property document, and also an advance payment made to the defendant to process the property so as to enable the said property to be leased.
The plaintiff, Musa Joof also claimed 25% of the said sum of D197, 000 after making several demands for the said money, but to no avail. When the civil case came up last Friday, 15th of October 2010, before Principal Magistrate Emmanuel Nkea, the plaintiff, Musa Joof tendered a letter before the court seeking a withdrawal of the said suit against Moses Richards, the former Special Criminal Court judge who was absent in court.
The plaintiff informed the court that the matter has been settled out of court. The presiding magistrate, Emmanuel Nkea then struck out the suit accordingly. Author: by Sidiq Asemota
