PUBLIC NOTICE NO:8 FROM PDOIS
The Central Committee of PDOIS takes this opportunity to convey to the General public that Sidia Jatta the NADD, National Assembly member has been appointed to conduct mediation between political parties. This is a Central Committee decision. Halifa Sallah is now charged with the responsibility of rebuilding PDOIS in particular and promoting Agenda 2011 as a tactical and strategic instrument for democratic change in 2011.

PDOIS's recent public announcement means that no one in PDOIS would meet with anybody over anything other than their adopted programmes as Sidia is a NADD official. I think this will make people to now understand why there has been no dialogue between PDOIS and UDP despite all the calls. It is not for lack of trying on the part of the UDP as some disingenuous people tried to insinuate but rather for the fact that arrogance has now utterly and completely diminished every wisdom in PDOIS's Ayatollah Sallah that he has now become snubbish and too big in his head to talk to anyone about anything other than his own philosophical programmes let alone to return calls.
In my view, there is no reason why UDP should contact Sidia on inter-party matters because he represents nothing but a dying party [NADD] with no leadership and functional structures? He is only there to safeguard his parliamentary seat.
I think PDOIS's message is clear; they do not want their leader to talk to UDP. In my opinion, this has now drawn the curtain as far as reaching out to pdois is concern. UDP should now move on with the unity agenda without PDOIS knowing fully that they have discharged their responsibility as the main opposition party, in reaching out to a fringe party as part of their responses to the national call for unity. All Gambians should now accept this and try and make the best out of the situation we have in hand-no matter what we say or do, we will never get PDOIS on board, period-. This would require concerted efforts on the part of all Gambians including those in the Diaspora, in the building of an alliance between UDP and the other opposition parties and politicians some of whom by the way, has more grass root support than PDOIS. Doing nothing is simply not an option. It is PDOIS which is out of the equation but not the Gambian people.

Hon. Sidia Jatta does have the ability to bring people on the table. His principles, as well as his nature is certainly something that we are all proud of. Like the Fulas will say, if someone is washing (scrubbing) your back for you, you wash your own front. Time is running fast, and there shouldn't be time for bickering to make things more difficult, crying over spilt milk. Honestly, we can't recover the wasted milk already. Let us turn over a new page folks, for those wishing progress for our little country. Let us support him wholly and direct our concerns, and avoid the continous fighting which has distracted us for so long.
A presidential seat is up for grab. Someone must be ready to tell Gambians why they are interested, so they can lead. Personally, I am tired of the endless back and forward bickering. i hope those that identified themselves as belonging to any individual party will learn to move forward now. It is a waste of time to stand at a loved one's grave, crying and touching the grave thinking that he/she is coming back to earth. That has never happened on earth.
I will address my first letter to Hon Sidia Jatta very soon.
