After some of the posting regarding this matters I gave it some more thought. On all issues I will ask the mother what she wants, but i will not giver her money. 1 to see if the pupil can go to a summer school, i will pay the costs of lessons, travel and lunch to the teacher. Am sure the school or another school has summer classes. 2 ask to meet the teacher that the mother wants to hire, if i feel okay with it, pay him directly and ask him to tutor another pupil that lives near the compound, it could even be an adult. it seems a shame to tutor just one child. 3 none of the above. In the climate of education in Gambia today do not feel happy that a student is not given a chance.
