Okay guys, this one by the recently fired Finance Minister, Mr. Foon is a little too much. i think the former minister should just ask for the job or maybe "Babili Mansa" could be acceptable but to call the Sheikh Professor "Oga Pata Pata" is just ridiculous. It is unfair to call our President, the "Grand Master of the Order of the Republic", Sheikh professor, Alhagie Dr. Yahya AJJ Jammeh "Oga Pata Pata"...
Ex-Finance minister writes to President Jammeh Africa » Gambia Tuesday, August 03, 2010 Following his removal from his Cabinet portfolio recently, Momdou Salieu Foon, the former minister of Finance and Economic Affairs has written to President Jammeh expressing his gratitude for according him the opportunity to serve under his administration.

May Allah SWT continue to give you the guidance and wisdom to take this nation to the higher heights that I have come to know you sincerely wish for our country and every Gambian. Please accept, Babili Mansa, Oga Pata Pata, the assurance of my highest esteem. Momodou Salieu Foon Kotu South

I am sure the D.O. only writes what it believes to be the truth,it is unlikly that Antouman Saho would deny writing it,that would indeed be very foolish. |

Apparently this is the norms now. Be unceremoneously removed and you better be gleefully be on the front page of the Observer thanking the Sheikh. Didn't the dude only serve like a couple of months before he was rifled? Folks, we are in for a long haul... |

Some of these letters are a direct insult to Jammeh's intelligence. He definitely knows these idiiots are just stroking his ego, they don't believe a word of what they're spitting.
Can some one tell us what "Babili" and "Pata Pata" means? |

You're probably right. Historically, west Africans love to have their fragile ego repeated stroked with borderline truths. |

This one below is by the "Great Malick Jones with gifts from South Africa". Ah the Gambia , the Smiling Coast (to borrow Toubab's words, but of course he could not possibly comment... )

Mariam has a real Vuvuzela but will have to try to create the sound. The Official FIFA Match Ball and the scarves is your present Mr.
President and I wish I could have done more. The box cover of the ball has autographs of some of the Ghanian players with whom I travelled with back home on the same flight. Please acknowdled my unrelenting service and commitment to the ideals you stand for." Author: Nanama Keita |
