Montessori Education
This September, I am considering my daughter (3) to attend a school that has the Montessori Methodology. Anyone has any idea? I have read a lot about it, so can anyone share experiences about it?

I would recommend it, its universal and will be same in most countries that you travel to. Not sure for the older child but for pre-school. definately. |

Turk, when i was 3 (ages ago) the methodol0gy of Maria Montessori was revolutionary. 'Learning by doing' (instead of drilling) was then a very new thing. I suppose that these days most educational institutions (whether pre-, primary, secondary or even vocational) adhere to that approach. But it is still good, especially because it makes it possible for the young child to decide for her or himself whether she/he most of all still wants to 'just' play or, if the child feels ready for that, to learn new things. I sent my children to Montessori nursery schools as well and they were fine there (and they turned into very successful young people, doing far better than their mother, haha). I hope the same will happen to you! |

Thanks guys.
My daughter is already very liberal, creative at her current school which is not Montessori. To be honest, I first thought it is some kind of religious school, lol, but when read about it I became very interested in. I would want to take advantage of this methodology because, next year, when 4, my daughter is going to start schooling. In Canada, now, there is a full time schooling for pre-schoolers at 4. |
