I am in the process of setting up a 501C (3), I just graduated with Master in Social Work. I am currently working with the federal government. The 501C (3) will basically help students from poor families with tuition fees. The bulk of the income for the start up and maintenance of the foundation will come from me. I will also write a grant and will go to various schools especially high schools to solicit some funds. The idea is to make people aware of ways that they can contribute to alleviate poverty in Africa. I think education is the best solution in solving many of Africa's problems. Maybe UK can be another base of the foundation and perhaps some members of the Bantaba would like to get involved. More information will be available as time goes on. Any suggestions

I'd be happy to help in any way I can.
I'm a qualified childcare social worker(dip SW) with a degree in Health and Community Studies.
I do not work at present due to ill health so have plenty of free time. |

Good to know you write grants. Do you live in the United states and do you operate a private consultant or work for some organisation? |

At my present job at a nonprofit organization I write grants in the US. I have taken classes, but more important is the writing of the grants and learning through experience. We always work as a team at my present job, no one person rows the canoe! |
