Thank you Tamsier.
Mrs Wadner made significant contributions after long battles to get where she landed. No wonder Wadner remains a household name in Gambia. Both Radio Syd and Wadner Beach Hotel are big contributions. I did not know she fought so well.

More thanks Momodou, for these detailed information in pictures. It is amazing that someone who made big sacrifices like this could not attract the attention apart from the two named places, Wadner and Syd. There is so much to learn from Mrs Wadner's vast experience. With a sound background in mass communication, there is no wonder she ventured the hospitality industry as demonstrated by the legacy of Wadner Beach Hotel. It would serve a part of Gambian appreciation of what Mrs Wadner did by a monument in her good memory.
Ironically, Wadner Beach Hotel stands oppsite side of the road to what is now called the Five Star Mile Two Hotel, H E Prisons.
Possibly, both Deyda Hydara (blessed memory) and Pap Saine, would have something to benefit from the good experience of Mrs Wadner or her daughter. |

perhaps we should have a Radio/telecommunications Museum in The Gambia to outline the histroy of media communications throughout the last century. |

I remember Joe Barry very well. In fact, he is the only DJ of that era I can remember. I remember him very well in the 80s. He was a very funny guy. I always confused weather he worked at Radio Gambia or Radio Syd. Wasn't he at Radio Gambia? |
