Can a Muslim scolar please tell me if there is a different Islamic interpritation between ALMS and CHARITY, in the context of giving money to the poor? Confusion has arisen in another topic that was being discussed here:

I did some search on the www and found the definitions:
Zakah or alms tax can be defined as that portion of a man's wealth which is designated for the poor.
Sadaqa (charity) is what is given voluntarily for the sake of Allah to obtain the recompense from Allah when the person who does so aims at conformity with the truth in his deed. It is given according to one's resources.

Be fair TURK, Momodou did try his best and did some digging,I thank him for that,he also readily accepts that he is not a scolar,but he has posted what he found out which is a starting point,I await the scolars responses should they wish to give them .

Seriously though, I know they will all say "Kafir bi" but do ya'll think god is this twisted and just straight up evil. Guys if God is gonna be branding humans and tying palm fibers around Abu Jahlins neck and burning people in hell and remaking them and burning them again, to hell with it then bro, I am gonna commit suicide since the soul never leaves earth according to the Quran, I will never endure a continuos cycle of evil crap. I think ya'll more screwed up in your heads of what God is all about. These are wild imaginations of a loving god who created you and gave you sex to enjoy God is Black and this I can assure you he cannot be Arab , Toubab, or Portuguese. The way I see Zakat it's always the Thief giving back a little bit of what he stole from you anyways and making a name for himself. I havent seen a worthy Zakat and the Worthy Zakats I see well its from Toubabs like Jambo and friends. They are the true givers of worthy gifts .............................................Peace |

ISLAM IS CLEAR ON THE DEFINITIONS AND WHAT REPRESENTS GOOD DEEDS IN HELPING THOSE IN NEED FOR SAKE OF HUMANITY.

Don't worry Tamsier This is cyberspace ain't no holding back. Everyone gets to defend what they believe in. After all the scare tactics I have seen. Yet they can still kill in the name of Islam and get 7 virgins and rivers of milk and honey in their backyards. I am beyond the point of needing redemption. Maybe I try too hard to be a realist but I can't help it no more. I just wanna know when was the last time a good moslem gave out 25 percent of their wealth to alms and charity. Kayjatta did you do that or should I say Karamba where is your 25 percent? Capitalism ruined it for Islam and they should start preaching socialism and Nepotism right along with it.
