Suicide Again!

http://thepoint.gm/africa/gambia/article/man-reportedly-commits-suicide

Suicide again! Major causes can be traced to mental instability and depression. Months ago, it was a German soccer player, famous for his name. In another instance, Essa Darri Tamba, a resident of Sintet ended his life near the Airport in Yundum, almost a year ago. Other cases were also reported. More than likely, there are some that didn't make it to the press.

I think the problem can be arrested if those that showed early warning signs can be given the moral and medical treatment to prevent them from committing suicide. It is really sad.

Rest in Peace! I wish you a grave full of flowers, and good reception from the angels of the most high Lord, Allah. amen.

Dalton1 all you say is true, many Gambians living in The Gambia suffer from depression caused by a feeling of hopelessness having to struggle everyday for survival for themselves their families including relatives who visit and stay for months knowing that they will not be refused food and lodging, the prospect of never having work ,the prospect of never being able to marry because of lack of money, have a family and be loved by their children ,so many many sad circumstances that the average Gambian has to bear in their everyday lives, life for many in the Gambia is not sweet.
Death and the prospect of happyness in the Second world would be much better.

Who will give and pay for "the moral and medical treatment to prevent them from committing suicide." Dalton1?

2bab,

Something is alarming, and caught my attention greatly.

Note to readers: Please handle information with caution. I am not in a position to authenticate the above data.

Thanks,

Dalton1,firstly I like your rider,
"Note to readers: Please handle information with caution. I am not in a position to authenticate the above data."
Well said,My own feeling I have expressed in my last posting, I have had a QUICK read through your links, one of which mirrors almost exactly my own words.
I promise I used my own words and had not visited the links you provided.
There are very few figures available for the African continent, therefore reasons would be difficult to discuss, there are however figures available for places that the black man from Africa has travelled to and made his home.It has been accepted by the writer in one of the links that due to religious and family honour reasons the suicide rate is probably higher than that known to the authorities who compiled the figures.
Statistics can be massaged to make whatever you want of them.Your links were interesting unfortunatly you failed to answer the question that I posed to you, that was:
"Who will give and pay for, "the moral and medical treatment to prevent them from committing suicide." Dalton1?

Thanks 2bab.

I believe you entirely on your words.I don't question your sincerity in your postings here. I know your ideas are always yours. Yes, you are right that your submission is very accurate, infact matches the submitted data from the links. I wasn't running away from your question either. I am honestly looking at the global world, not only the Gambia, which is a little mark on the entire globe.

It is duty of Government and philanthropists like your good self to initiate long and short term projects that will help those in need and uplift society to heights. I am talking about global participation -to inspire and engineer change in the mindset of world catalysts, and to see that change take the course of the struggle. Hopefully, before year's end (inshallahu), I personally intend to initiate a project, in the form of education, that cements efforts of global peace, stability, and enlightenment.

thanks,

yj

I applaud your idea when you write " I personally intend to initiate a project, in the form of education, that cements efforts of global peace, stability, and enlightenment." very good concept, the world is a big place and I think that you may have more success getting your idea off the ground if you started at a more local level, there is a saying in England, "Great Oaks from little acorns grow",you also appear to be in favour of attitudinal change,(I am writing about The Gambia here)when you write " to inspire and engineer change in the mindset of world catalysts," have I understood the words that you have written correctly ? as you have used quite a few in your reply to my posting.
