Yes, I recognize the voice. I know Mr. Sillah back in the Gambia, he has always been a great voice for change.
I think Kanjura, Suntu (which will be the Honorable Santafara), and the other guy, from the UDP did a great job by speaking eloquently about issues concerning the opposition in general and not just about the UDP. That is what we need right now.
It would however be great if the voice of the minority is included in future interviews and talk shows.
Again great job!

Kay, thanks for the nice words. Our strategy on the ground is to allow the general members, to participate in the affairs of Gambian politics. And the good thing is, partisanship is too low on our discussion scale. we will listen to constructive advise anytime.

Kayjatta, yes Santanfara is right that is Ndongo (ML) Sillah. He has been a great voice and him and Mbye Sarr are doing an excellent job.

I also like to shout out to the guys on the interview... I think the tone has changed greatly within the last several months. This is the kind of open mindedness we have always advocated on this forum.

I guess it really helped to know the position of the STGDP in their efforts to unite Gambian opposition for the better as opposed to the way they were branded during the NADD debacle.

I hope that leaders of the opposition parties will also speak for all the opposition regardless of what side they are on. We are all faced with the same dilema and should confront the evil from a common front...

Not sure about everyone else but am sick of individual party politics that has no winning formula. Hopefully we can all find a common ground and a reason to work together...

The lessons are clear... if the Obama's can work with the clintons and the Conservatives can work with Liberal Democrats, Mugabe can work with Morgan and Kenyan's can work together, certainly Gambians can do it too... we are simply too intellectually sophisticated to allow the same divisions over and over....

Hope UDP UK militants appreciate your words highlighted red above

THE ISSUES & BROADER PICTURE BUT NO POLITICS OF CONFRONTATIONS, PERSONAL ATTACKS, SMEARING & HATE CAMPAIGN TO FORWARD THE GAMBIA OUR HOMELAND!

"Together we stand! Divided we fall!"

Thats why STGDP & N.A.D.D is ever relevant for A NATIONAL CAUSE!

Thanks Dbaldeh for the fine statements. I would ignore the subsiquent comment by Kobo. Him trying to equate STDGP with NADD is abysimal at best.

Thanks Suntou, honestly though, I still think taking away the personalities and the individual power struggle that beseiged NADD, the idea of a coalition of all the parties remains the most viable option to restore Gambians' interest in our political spectrum.

Look at some of the fundamental agreements that were willingly signed by both parties

First a five year transition period, restoration of the rule of law, respect for human rights and dignity of our citizens, freedom of the press and most importantly creating a level playing field for a viable multiparty democracy.

Isn't this what Gambia truly needs to get back to its democratic practices?

Also imagine, under the NADD formulae would it have been ok if the UDP leader was selected as flagbearer? What could have been more honorable and patriotic for a citizen like Darboe to oversee the true restoration of constitutional rule and multiparty democracy in the Gambia?

I think anyone who is able to lead our nation to that dream land would forever have the nation's highest honors...

So in principle and best practices I still believe the NADD idea of democracy remains a more viable one if only we can overlook the personalities and individual party politics.

IT'S NOT KOBO, SAMBA OR DEMBA! YOU ALWAYS PERSONALISE THINGS! I HIGHLIGHTED A VERY IMPORTANT POINT BY DBALDEH AS QUOTED; "Not sure about everyone else but am sick of individual party politics that has no winning formula. Hopefully we can all find a common ground and a reason to work together... "

TELL ME WHERE DID I EQUATE STGDP WITH NADD

HOW DID NADD EXISTED? WAS IT NOT INITIATED THROUGH STGDP?

LET ME CLARIFY! NADD IS "BABY" OF STGDP. NADD IS A PROJECT FROM STGDP!

UDP CANNOT SEDUCE STGDP TO DICTATE ITS AGENDA? STGDP IS NEUTRAL GROUND FOR ALL PARTIES! HOWEVER I JUST REALISED THAT WE ARE AT CROSS-PURPOSES; FOR UDP HAS RECENTLY MARRIED WITH STDG & DIVORCED STGDP

HOWEVER BOTH STGDP & STDG ARE A GROUP OF GAMBIANS BASED IN AMERICA. STDG'S EFFORTS ARE THAT; "They are a group of Gambians whose wish is to see a strong unified opposition in our country."! LIKEWISE STGDP GOAL WITH NADD IS SAME NATIONAL CAUSE WITH STDG.

WITH YOUR COURTESY STDG' EFFORTS UNDER http://lawyerdarboe.blogspot.com/2010/04/stdg-efforts.html

HOW CAN YOU FIGHT A NATIONAL CAUSE WITH A DIVIDE & RULE POLICY, DISCRIMINATION, HOSTILITIES & PREJUDICES

TELL ME WHAT STDG STANDS FOR? IS IT SAVE THE DEMO-CRAZY OF GAMBIA DEFINITELY I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS STDG

PLEASE DON'T IGNORE MY QUESTIONS

THANKS FOR ANY REACTIONS!

Kobo, It's a typo error on the UDP site regarding STGDP or it was written by some JJC who knows very little about STGDP. The interview was with the STGDP Executive and not STDG. http://www.thegambiajournal.com/sambanner/spacialplayer2.php?sid=327
