Professor Kobo, thats my point. So would you agree with me that it is better to foster HONESTY, people who take their individual moral responsibilities upon themselves,” Let honesty guide our actions". Hence honesty has a self regulating mechanism. Than lifting that moral obligation onto the state judiciary system, “Let justice guide our actions”. In other words; innocent until proven guilty is applicable where honesty is the guidance of actions. On the other hand guilty until proven innocent is applicable where justice is the guidance of actions.
It is when honesty becomes the guidance of our actions that we would have a well functioning judicial system that is less susceptible to corruptibility.
IT IS PRESUMED "INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY" UNDER A COURT OF LAW FOR DISPENSATION OF JUSTICE (FAIR TRIAL)!
WHAT IS YOUR LEGAL BASIS WHICH LAW ADVOCATES WORDS IN RED
HOWEVER THERE COULD BE EXISTENCE OF MOB JUSTICE UNDER A DEMOCRACY!

In religion we accept as true, that GOD sees us where ever we are and the effect of that is we do not need any overseer or monitoring to do the right thing in fore GOD, for HE sees all and knows all, “Let honesty guide our actions” works in the same way.
“Let honesty guide our actions” has a self disciplinary implication (we rely on our upbringing to do what is right) whiles, “Let justice guide our actions” has a monitoring, or surveillance disciplinary implication (police state)
I mean the law or the judiciary system should be the last resort to solving judicial/moral problem and other legal issues. And the first resort should be an individual moral consciousness, with a self control mechanism.
In other words each and everyone should know what is right and wrong; we do not need the judiciary system to guide us or tell us what is right or wrong as implicated in “let justice guide our actions”

If there are different religions & beliefs; under democracy to accomodate all denominations "STATE TO BE A SECULAR" UNDER THE GAMBIA CONSTITUTION.
CITIZENS ARE GOVERNED BY SUPREMACY OF THE CONSTITUTION AND NOT ON PREACHINGS
THE PREACHERS GAVE GUIDANCE BUT NOT STATE POWER! |

I use religion (GUD) as an example of a mindset implied by “Let honesty guide our action”. Honesty becomes a virtue cultivated from childhood; the people are entrusted with responsibility as honest and reliable citizens and do not need a “Big Brother” surveillance. On the contrary, “Let justice guide our actions” imply Justice/Law as an instrument to ensure honesty. Therefore the need to constantly police, enforce Justice/Law becomes plain as the nose on your face in the process. For me, that is primitivism, based on the cliché; ‘We´ are going to salvage ´Them’, make them civilized.
