15th April Planned Demonstration –Central London

The United Democratic Party [UK] in conjunction with the Coalition of Human Rights Gambia[ UK] wish to inform the entire Gambian Community and friends of the Gambia living in the United Kingdom, particularly those living in and around London, that a peaceful demonstration will be held outside the Nigerian and Gambian High Commissions/Embassies on Thursday, 15th April 2010 to protest against the harsh, perverse and political motivated imprisonment of UDP’s Campaign Manager Mr Femi Peters, and the complicity of Nigerian Mercenary judges and Magistrates in the stifling and erosion of fundamental rights and freedoms in the Gambia particularly the right to fair trial.

The demonstration will kick-off at 13.00hrs at the Nigerian Embassy near Trafalgar Square [nearest tube stations- Oxford Circus and Embankment] and will then proceed to the Gambian High Commission at 14.30hrs [nearest tube station- Kensington High Street]. Placards and T-shirts will be available. All are urge to atend. Demonstrators may also bring along their old shoes to symbolically stone the monster.

All demonstrators are advised to be good natured and to demonstrate peacefully.
