Obituary: Alj. Bora Manjang of T-Road.
As soon as I saw the pic, my mind flashed and it took me way back to 1999, when one of his sons (Omar) I visited introduced me to the deceased. The man simply is a spirit and gem, down to earth, if you like, and a pious elder at that. What caught my attention then was the fact that some of his children were allocated to Islamic (Quranic) learning only, and if I remember well, at least two (2) of his sons are hafiz (memorize the Quran in its entirety). So today, I would like to mourn the man (Alj. Bora of T-Road) I met then.
Rest in peace elder! May the legacy you lived all be turned to rewards for you, and may the Almighty Allah accept you and all our parents to paradise. Amen.

He was one of the first entrepreneurs of modern Gambia. I remember he had a truck in Kuntaur area during mid 1960s.
My sincere condolences to his entire extended family. May Allah grant him Jannah. |

What a flash back of memory!
I just spoke with his son Omar, after we disconnected in communication for over a decade. They are holding prayer service for the late Alj. Bora in New York, USA.
Once again, may Allah swt rest his soul in perfect peace. Amen.
