Poetry: Maya

I think there is a great learning curve in poetry. The case for Maya is an interesting one. It is not hard to see from the poems, her inner feelings, call it some form of ‘complexity’ and you are perfectly right. Perhaps the environment and how it all happened then motivated some of her best poems. Yes, we can echo that emphatically aloud. In a society of racial prejudice, discrimination and demeaning, one cannot help but revolt in manners available to you. Maya, a gifted poet took that route, and inspired great many people with her poetry verses. Time and again, that toughen her inner being...and Maya's poetry is excellent.

Yes I too think I know why the caged bird sings for indeed that is all it can do. See the prisoners in their cells even the chicken in the yard are envied for there they are free to roam whereas for the poor entrapped prisoners it is the opposite. One very prolific Gambian Islamic scholar from the Badibou's ; Saabaa precisely, once pronounced that the freedom we take for granted is so taken only because we stand on the other side of the fence , as for those on the shackled side have no other choice but bear/endure their state either in silence or sing forlorn songs to ;for what it is worth cool down the "temperature" which it does not in reality but just acts as a balm of sorts. Indeed the unfairly caged would feel envious of even the prison rats who are free to go where they like except to keep away from the hungry cats.....He he he....thanks for the post and by the way happy anniversary.
