kassma i think Biraago is right. there is nothing derogatory about tribes. its just an english word to describe a political structure amongst a people. the difference with nationality as you pointed out is that tribes are usually headed by a patriarch or a chief! also people inherit their tribal identity. the two characteristics above are not necessarily true with nations.

we have tribalism because its human to be competitive and its also human not to respect others. to give a balance you have to have good law and order and rule of law.

Kassama I thought we are trying to mend Gambia's political issues and problems of diversity in Gambian context. We are all Gambians is a calling or appeal to all Gambians to do a proper housekeeping for themselves and attempt to addressed the underlying complex political issues thereof. That's just a food of thought for Gambians and we welcome anyone's support in its debates. You appear to have mis-interpret its context and should not be considered an insult; am afraid!
