2bab,
Are you telling us you are the author, Mariatou Ngum-saidy? (: (Just kidding!)
You will never stop amazing me all the time. Sometimes I sit on your silly postings (Oops! ps. excuse its usage, in the good way here, I meant to say cunning nature) and cracking inside me....the last time, a friend had to say: "YJ, are you ok?"
What world do you live in 2bab? Regarding whether they read, I am not personally privy to that information, but going by a review previously by Kons here, he highlighted parts that might have been plagarized from Bantaba. If this is to go by, be advised even Jammeh might be with you here, much more his medium, DO-boy. Isn't Moe a reporter for DO? ha ha ha ha! Kind regards, Dalton

Dalton1, I read what you have written my only surprise was that the following lines were written in the D.O.:
The Gambia is one of the least developed countries in the world. It was ranked 155 out of 177 countries in the Human Development Index (HDI) for the year 2006.
This information although in the Public Internet domain had to be searched for, which I dont think the staff at the D.O. would have bothered themselves to do. I don't consider myself to have a "cunning nature" at all maybe I have a good memory and digest what has been written on Bantaba in Cyberspace and in the newspapers with Gambian news, some of which is just hot air, other parts appear to put forward ideas that would help The Gambia help herself and thereby go higher up the scale of the HDI,and obviously make the bulk of Gambians happier. The published figures were for 2006 note, things may have changed since then. And No I wasn't the Author of that piece. |

2bab,
I followed & thanks. I know you are not Mariatou...(i was teasing you)
FYI, I think DO-boy is here. Besides, the internet is widely accessible. According to the Freedom Newspaper, jammeh admitted during his visit in NY that he is always on the internet surfing. Added to that, the Bantaba is older than many online newspapers. It is my belief that everyone is reading everyone. I stand to be corrected on this.

Yes, I know that you were teasing about Mariatou and it would appear shortsighted if anybody who is involved with politics did not read all sections that represent that sphere of interest on the WWW. (Remember I hate politics )

In the end, I agree with you that simple is good.
See, a friend told me he gets calls from the Gambia regarding what happens online. The Gambia as you may know is very small, i.e. 10,356KM Sq. Of late, I heard people depend on what goes on online, because Jammeh has muzzled the press such that the print newspapers are fading out, at least if not immediately, in the long run. The online newspapers has hampered the market for the print newspapers. In the long run, I fear that the online newspapers, where you don't have to pay 2bab or someone commentator a dime to read his/her opinion, might take over.
Regarding hating politics, unlike you, I won't put mine like that. I think hate is a very strong word to use since politics (civics) is part of our daily lives, but I am inspired by ordinary people...or people, and not governments (SIC: oppressive) or rulers/kings. It is just this thing in me that cannot accept their certain treatment of people.
It was nice debating with you today...I was getting bored over here today.
thanks, Dalton

Dalton1. Thank you,we cannot have you being bored, hate is a very strong word,so,being a simple fellow you will notice that I have changed my signature,I wonder if MOE will join in the debate in :

a really interesting one this would be if Moe decides that his opinions can be explained without insults and downgrading those who disagree with him.The pressure is on MOE |
