Assan Musa Camara was the chairman of the UDP/PPP/GPP opposition coalition, he resigned his position from what he called "opposition disintegration in the country and this was during the NADD coalition
He felt compelled that it was a waste of his time trying to preside over a coalition that basically failed it's people in terms of organization and unity.
He even hinted that he just might re register his party or join the APRC party . Assan Musa Camara is one of Gambia's most seasoned politicians ,and thats just my opinion yet he has served as Gambia's foreign minister from 1967-1974 under President DK Jawara.
He supposedly founded the Gambia People's Party and contested two elections against then incumbent President DK Jawara, my question to the older generation who might know how relevant he was to tell us a little about him .
what do you guys know about Assan Musa Camara? and how relevant can he be in Shaping the future politics of Gambia. Personally I love the guy and would like to know more............................................Peace

Please allow me space in your widely read newspaper to publish this article. It was quite refreshing to listen to you, as you narrate on GRTS (TV) on Saturday 5th September in the programme ‘One on One’, not only your life story but also the birth and journey of an improbable nation.
Indeed your dedication to public service is exemplary and can serve as a torch to this and the next generations of Gambians. As you said, development is an ongoing process and that every team must do its part. Well, your team did its part gloriously and I salute you and your comrades for your perseverance, dedication and faith in The Gambia, and what it can achieve as a nation even when its viability as an independent nation was doubted by many.
In fact what precipitated this letter is the sad realization that the greatest part of our heritage, the history of the humble and uncertain beginning of an “improbable” nation will be lost for eternity if nothing is done, given the fact that many of our founding fathers have gone. It is in this vein, Sir, I ask you to write an insightful and an insider’s view in a form of a memoir this great piece of history; this great heritage, so that it can serve as a reference to successive generations of Gambians.
This, Sir, is the last request of a country to a man who serve her diligently. May Allah grant you to live for decades more for your country still need you. Author: Omar Baldeh, Serre kunda Source:http://observer.gm/africa/gambia/article/an-open-letter-to-assan-musa-camara |

Thanks Moe, I wish Shriffe Dibba wrote a book, hopefully Jawara in writing. This is really good. |
