During the first anniversary of his coup, Yaya Jammeh urged for self-reliance and national unity. He also called on all patriots to fight nepotism, tribalism and corruption. He openly talked about his contempt for third world intellectuals, who he blamed for aiding and tolerating these despicable vices. He claimed that the July 22nd movement will last for a millennium to uphold his version of democracy. His democracy is different from the western preached version, which he called "a democracy of rodents."
Jammeh also claimed that he sacrificed his life for the Gambia .... this is quite evident today, right? In retrospect, it is clearly evident to every sane thinking person that Jammeh did not in anyway benefit from his martyrdom for Gambia .

On the other hand Kay i don't think being divisive in this situation is uncalled for ,You have to be divise and super smart to deal with the situation he inherited. 30 years of entrenched corruption can't be dealt with over night. You made me laugh when you said uninformed ,if Jammeh IS uninformed ,what does that make the rest of the civil servants and citizens,He is ruling them ain't he?...................................................................Peacequote: Originally posted by kayjatta
